The other Imola! Love the RS4, almost bought it when I got my E90. Two things that made my decision that weren't mentioned in VVG's write-up above are significantly less leg room (and room in general) in the back seats, and older technology for the interior. Still an incredible car and the fact that it is pretty close to an M3 developed several years after the aging B7 platform says a lot.

I'd lease if you are seriously considering an F-series car in the future. The Audi's just don't do anything for me visually, but I'm sure they are very good cars.

P.S. Didn't the M3 run better numbers than the Audi RS4 "in the wet" around Top Gear's test track?

I remember a bunch of forum members jumping on footie's case after that review.

You have to understand it is highly dependent on the quality and wear of the tires - probably much more so than in an RS4.

Last time on track it was raining and a V8 S4 was measurably faster than my M3 with worn down PS2's in all sectors except the main straight. And I could tell how much less traction my car had compared to the previous wet track outing, when the tires had just 6-8k miles on them...

Agreed, but I highly doubt that a series like Top Gear would run the cars on worn tires.

2011 M3 ZCP was faster in the wet then the new RS5 (444hp) on the Top Gear track by ~ .5 sec

I haven't submitted enough posts to PM yet. I actually traded my car in today. Take a look at my new post today titled "Fire Orange Option" to see my color dilemma.

On a side note, did you decide if you were going M3 or RS4? As a former RS4 owner I strongly suggest you research the carbon build up issue.
