Damp floor

Got in the car today and noticed that the passenger rear floor mat and carpet are a bit wet after two days of rain here on the eas-coast.
I cant seem to find where it's coming in.
Has anybody ever dealt with anything like that?

car was never in any accident.

Remember seeing this subject a long time ago (Did you try searching?). And vaguely recall the issue: not enough putty on a panel bonded right at the base of the 'A' pillars, just below the exterior fender line. It's clearly visible when you open the hood. The cure involved just adding silicon/putty to the gap. I see no other way where water can penetrate, unless your door seals are clearly messed up. Good luck man, and keep us posted.

Although the following are common X3 problems, some could easily apply to M3. The most common would be the vapor barrier shield inside the door. If you ever did PDR then the barrier could be messed up - or it was simply never installed correctly. Signs might be wet on the underside of the door. Sun roof drains might also be a cause but I don't know where the rear drains empty - so could not say if this could be a factor. Regardless, you really need to get the carpet up and find out how wet it is. Soundproofing material might mask deep water as it does in the X3.
