**********s | UUC EVO3 Short Shifter Kit w/ DSSR | E9X M3

What's new with EVO3?
Every part of the EVO3 has been changed from EVO2. Superficial appearance shows little difference, but every internal component, dimension, and hardware piece has been changed. While keeping within the basic design of the earlier EVO2, the EVO3 is as close to a "clean sheet" design as possible.

Benefits of the UUC EVO3 Short Shifter
 • Subjectively 20% effort reduction compared to EVO2, very close to stock effort feel; this results in the smoothest and least-notchy shifter available.
 • Completely self-contained and self-adjusting primary pivot bearing assembly that retains lubrication, keep out the grit that "roughens" a shifter feel over time, and positions the shifter assembly perfectly for ideal linkage alignment.
 • New full-length internal vibration absorbing material that surpasses any OE or aftermarket material for longevity and retention of design specifications.
 • New standard lower pivot bearing setup with enhanced ease of installation.
EVO3 SSK Construction
 • Upper section is alloy steel, acoustically isolated from lower section.
 • 100% compatible with all original BMW shift knobs including illuminated knobs.
 • For custom-tailored ergonomics, the height-adjustable design raises or lowers top section. This allows changes from original height to as much as 3/4" lower.
 • Locking collar for height adjustment.
 • Single-piece T-304 stainless steel lever is the strongest shifter available with integral pivot ball (not welded on).
 • Completely self-contained and self-adjusting primary pivot bearing assembly positions the shifter assembly perfectly for ideal linkage alignment. Uses stainless steel pivot ball for ultimate wear-free use and smoothness.
 • Lower pivot bearing setup virtually eliminates friction, now with enhanced ease of installation with captive bearing seat surfaces.
UUC DSSR (Double Shear Selector Rod)
While producing arguably one of the best short shifter kits on the market today, UUC's goal didn't just end there, but to overall increase the smoothness and precision of the entire operation. In gear play or 'looseness' is eliminated through UUC's new DSSR design. How is this done you ask?

The Problem
One major wear and deformation part in the shifter assembly is the connection point between the transmission and shifter's lower pivot point. In BMW's OEM factory, the connection ends have a large injection-molded plastic bushings, plastic isn't the best material to be used for high wear parts as you may already know; connecting the two between the two lower pivot points is the OEM selector rod, a single rod with a 90 degree open ended pin on each side. This design exerts an enormous amount of force on the bushings from one side called, single shear force. The end result is, in gear play or 'looseness' causing over all free play and sloppiness in the entire assembly.

The Solution
Why not just replace the bushings again? This is a temporary fix as the bushing will just be worn down again with constant use. To completely rid of this problem, UUC worked from the ground up replacing the Selector rod with their own Double Shear Selector Rod. Compared with the OEM design seen in the picture below, the UUC DSSR uses a more compact design with closed ended pins on each end; this result in the even distribution of forces on the pins and bushings themselves, eliminated play and looseness, the only free play is in the transmission itself.

This is a great product--a must have for anyone who is even a little disappointed in the stock. The shifts are more precise and smooth and I absolutely love the 3-4 shift. Ron's a great guy. I'll get a vid of the shifter up shortly
