Best ways to protect frontend for road trip...
What is the consensus for a temporary solution for a long road trip to prevent rock chips/bugs etc?
Can you guys link me to products...I've seen sprays/saran-wrap esque type stuff. I've tried painters tape and it peeled off during high speed and flapped pretty easily. Thanks |

I can tell you that it was horrible for me. I took a 300 mi trip (all interstate) and it just started peeling off the front-end at speed over 65mph. I ended up pulling over multiple times to try to get it to adhere again but with no luck. As it was flapping around the glue they used ended up all over my hood and clear bra, which took alcohol to remove. I ended up tearing it all off on the side of the interstate about 50 miles into my trip. My car was perfectly clean prior to applying it, and I followed their instructions to the 'T' to apply it. Never again. Blue painters tape, although it has issues as well, works 10000x better IMO. |

Clear Bra works wonders - Get Venture Sheild or another reputable name & don't worry about it. Before the application I picked up chips every other time I hit the autobahn in the left lane & went at speed (130+) in a line. Since, no issues.

Use 3M green masking tape, start by applying at rear edge working forward with overlapping layers like roof tiles. The wind will not blow up the edges if applied like this.
The green tape is designed for automotive use. |

The front bumper held fine and the side mirrors we're fine too, but the hood and roof didn't hold up. |

That S@%T is horrible, i put it on my car for a road trip from DC through Spartensburg SC, to Atlanta. I think i made it probably 3 miles away from my house before i ripped it all off.

Agree. Some other products may be similar, but for the fit, it's hard to beat Venture Shield/3M.
