Completely different harness as you would expect given the different DME. We are using the same Rev3 unit as what we use for n54/n55. But with different firmware and maps.

Question for Shiv,

This might be to early to ask, but will there be an autotune feature like the N54/N55 Procede. Say, for example, we want to delete cats, add a new intake, or even supercharge?

Great work thus far!

It is foreseeable that we may have an autotuning system that dials in ignition advanced based upon knock control feedback. But that would be for a while. Tuning on a NA car is much more predictable than tuning on a heavily boosted car. So the need for autotuning is diminished a bit.

Sorry if I am asking for too much from you right now, but are there plans to tune for race gas and meth? I'm particularly curious about this setup for track days. Perhaps use the PROcede to take advantage of the high octane while using the meth to keep everything in check.

Running race gas when running meth is pretty much going to be a waste of money. The meth will provide more octane than the race gas. And a whole lot more cooling effect. The only way running race gas will make you faster (when running meth) is by lightening the weight of your wallet

Are you willing to donate your dyno .DRF files to the Dyno
Database so others can download, compare, and look at the SAE
corrected values as well?

Sure. Once I finish testing and tuning, I'll donate the .drf files to the Dyno Database. Still have a couple small things I'd like to do with the tune. Should be able to test it out next week.

Just to clarify, can the cruise control stalk be programed to turn on and off methanol injection by switching maps?

Also is there an option to turn on just meth with the stock tune?

Thanks Shiv!

Correct, by bumping (and holding for 1 sec) the cruise control stalk up or down, you can change Procede maps. And yes, there is an option to just turn on meth with no other tuning changes. The way we have it now:

Map 0: Stock tune/no meth
Map 1: Procede pump gas tune/no meth
Map 2: [undefined]
Map 3: Stock tune/meth active
Map 4: Procede meth tune/active meth

And yes, cruise control still works

Thanks again for the clarification!

I'm looking forward to seeing your price point with everything as well as further developments.

It is my understanding that the M3 comes with an air filter that includes a charcoal element which has been suggested to be fairly restrictive. I believe I've seen dynos which show that replacing the stock intake air filter with a 70 or 80 dollar aftermarket product can add several horsepower.

Hi Shiv,

This is NOT to start any sort of tune dispute or even a tune discussion. There have been a few dynos which showed 400 or slightly more wheel horsepower on cars that were not bored/stroked and remained NA.

This is the thread I saw most recently : http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=546161

I believe that the above M3 is also on the West Coast and uses 91 octane gas.

I'm sure you've seen Pencilgeek's tests, but the change to 93 octane makes a very significant difference and I'm almost certain that blending the fuel in your test vehicle to 93 would get you really close to 400 whp.

Thanks for your good work in bringing a new product to the market.

A few of us have received 408-411whp on a local 1.0 CF dynapack which reads like the local DJ +/- 5whp. Uncorrected results were in the mid 390's. Close enough. We were catted and on 91 oct. One of the files is in the DD.

Dynopaks will always read higher than Dynojets due to testing with less rotational mass (wheels off). IMHO, there is no such thing as getting one type of dyno to read like another since they use different loading/calculations to derive hp/tq.

DynApacks (when not messed with) read very similar. We have over 40-50 cars between both that coincide with that. However one of these days I will drive my (DP) 411whp pig over to their facility for S and G's. The stock baseline was 340whp on 93 octane - similar to what you got.

A 380-400whp recipe seems to be: x pipe (a good one rpi/dinan/gintani/stock gutted), mufflers, filter, pulley, proper tune and 93 octane a 12.8-13.0~afr and about 32 degrees of advance up top. If you are advancing 4+ over stock up top that is where the power is coming from. I'd like to see Zoeb's same car with all the bolt-ons, meth and +4 advance - Could make 420~whp.

The key w/o meth is 93 octane, which we don't have in Cali.

A Few old school members did near or over ~400whp on 91octane. JohnMartin, Vic55, and one other person whose name escapes me.

I don't mean to be argumentative here. But the only 400+hp run I see from JohnMartin on the dyno database was on a Dynapack. On a dynojet, he made 371whp with these mods:

Evo Sport Pulley, MY08, 6MT
Macht Schnell Air Filter
Primary CAT Delete
Gintani Rear Exhaust
Power Chip Stage-2 ECU
91 Octane (US), 95 Octane (RON)
6-Speed Manual Transmission

That was according to this entry on the dyno database at least. To be fair, there could easily have been other results that aren't on the database. Do you have links to the other 400+whp Dynojet runs that you mentioned? I'm not saying that they don't exist by any means. I just haven't seen them and I'd like to know more about what upgrades they had.
