Same here... chances are always pretty high that I have to take the next exit to fill up the car anyway.

One of my first cars was an Acura Integra. Loved that car. Back then, I never felt the need to hotdog around in it and challenge BMWs to races. That idea was just low-class, immature and off my radar to even want to do.

Now I can afford M's and I still have little desire to street race regardless of what kind of car it is, even less if it's a souped-up Honda.

Hmm... now that I think of it, if it's an AMG. It's ON!

simple. They know they have no chance, they simply want to see their dream car take off at full load so they feel good in their pants.

I used* to do it to ferraris and such just so they'll floor it. Hell to be honest, couple days ago i saw a white 599 GTO on the 73 and i gunned it just to see him fly by. That glorious v12...

There's a good chance taking it to the track will show you that the car isn't as good as you think it is when you get lapped by tuned Honda's/Subaru's/Mitsubishi's. =\

Even lowly Miata's

Also, track skillz (or the lack thereof).

Yea well driver ability is the biggest factor at the track but needless to say I'm sure some will be surprised that a $10-20k mazda/honda track weapon will run circles around their BMW =)

I had 2 new civic Si's in the past week fly around freeway onramps behind me and get right on my ass. I was so tempted to slam on my brakes both times, but they were so close I was afraid they'd rear end me and I didn't want to deal with that outcome. It's quite annoying though.

point is, who cares about somebody else's car. It is your car that you enjoy driving. Everybody can tune their car, including you tuning yours. So what exactly are we comparing here? You won't see Civic's in any professional racing against M3 because it is a different class of the size and engine. You comment is more of a sort, buy a good motorbike and be faster than them all !!! You're really not making any effect on anything.

Very nice article man! Different people really have different mind sets.

It's not all about status symbols when you have loads of cash. It basically comes down on how you make use of it. You could either be flashy as hell and live in a million-dollar home with flashy cars or you could be just like the guys in the article, humble and living in a condo or apartment. The guys in the article basically invest their wealth into social causes and start-up ventures and not into expensive/extravagant things. Their way of being status symbols is by contributing to society by helping those in need.

OP,
Just ignore the civic. It would be more painful if you tried racing him and get pulled over by the police for reckless driving. Give them time to mature. They'll learn their lesson one day...
