M3 has its own life...

Hi,

So, this morning I dropped the wife off at work. Upon starting the car (E90 M3) all the settings were different:

- it started finding all radio stations
- power button was off when it is always on
- M button brought it to S when I had in the previous setting D

I've never had this before. Any idea what this could be?

Thanks

My power button also seems to have a mind of its own?!

Is it possible that you used a different key? All the settings are tied to the key you use, as far as I understand it.

I've started mine and it would default to the nav page and nothing was the same. And then the lane change turn signal wouldn't work. Then turn it off and next day it's fine. Happened twice so far.

That is a good point especially since we have the Comfort Access Package and my wife carries her keys with her in her bag. Maybe the car captured the signal of her key before it captured mine?

Let me go and find out and I'll report back

I checked and sure enough there were alien sightings in your area right around the same time that those mysterious things were happening with your car. It makes perfect sense why aliens from another planet would choose an M3 if they needed to get around while here on Earth. I'm just wondering why they were so inconsiderate not to leave your car with the original settings?

So I went for a meeting a few hours ago and the car is back to normal. I guess it was my wife's key causing the trouble...
