Longtime lurker, new member & m3 owner!

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself to the board, I've been lurking here for a long time and now I'm looking forward to finally contributing. The M3 has been my dream car since I was a freshman in HS (I'm 27 yrs old now). I got a 2000 honda civic for my 16th birthday, and I still have that car and continue to use it as my daily driver. After making it through college, getting married, & buying a house, I decided the time was right to go ahead and splurge a little, so I purchased an 09 M3 coupe from a friend of mine that did not want to keep the car due to financial reasons. I was lucky to get a great deal, especially since I knew the previous owner and he took great care of the car. I just have to say WOW, as 99% of the people here have already said, this car is amazing. It is probably 10x more amazing for me if you consider the upgrade from a civic to an m3

I definitely feel lucky to own my dream car and it's more than what I expected, it definitely puts a huge smile on my face everytime I'm behind the wheel (except sometimes in the Houston traffic, pretty tough to overcome that). I've attached some pics below, sorry for rambling!

I told myself I wouldn't mod the car, I modded the hell out of my civic in my younger days and spent years getting it back to stock after realizing how pointless it was (yes I was a riceboy!). I know this is a different type of car though. And I'll admit, the more time I spend here, the more I consider modding the M

I have about a 70 mile round trip commute...it sucks. It definitely feels surreal still sometimes to see that M logo in front of my eyes.
