Advice: Sell "as is" or part out

Need to part ways with my 2010 M3 for a larger BMW.. From the groups experience, is it better to part out a car or try and sell it "as is"? Regardless, my guess is that I'm better off selling my BBS 20" tire set and putting back on the OEM 19's, but other than that, is it worth putting the car back to stock. I have Eibach sport springs, Dian Stage I, LED Turn Signals, AngeliBrights, Black grills, etc. I have all the original OEM parts, but wanted to get some advice from the group. Thanks!!

If you have all the parts and the time to do it, I would put it back and sell the aftermarket stuff seperately. It's much easier to sell an unmodified car vs. modified.

Really depends if you find the right buyer... If you do a trade-in you should go back to stock, since the dealer won't give you anything for the mods.

I'd think no matter how you sell it (private or trade-in) you're better off parting out. Most buyers don't put value in mods, and more still may even think of spending less for a car that has mods.

If you have the time and stock pieces you'll maximize your return (or minimize your loss) if you go back to stock.

Thanks for the advice. Just hate the thought of taking everything off and trying to sell it. More fun putting on in this case than taking it off.

Always part out. Most people don't even care for mods and will look at them negatively and certainly won't give you value for them. Basically; you'll get just about the same amount with or without mods. So definitely part out.

For sure, it sucks. Get a buddy and some beer lol!

+1

most buyers will not value your full package fully. For instance, I may like everything about your mods except for the Eibach springs, so therefore, I will discount the price of Eibachs on my offer to you, in fact, I'll even discount it to the cost of paying someone to take the springs off.

So in that respect, you should part out your car and return it to stock. I did that with my last car (Evo 8) and I got back basically 50 cents to 70 cents on the dollar of most mod items. My aftermarket wheels, I got 100% back!

The suspension is probably not worth taking out unless you can do it yourself. It'll be at least $400 with an alignment, and you MAY get that much back selling it.

Part out as much of it as you can. You will have a better shot at getting back the money spent on some of your mods that way. Although the springs may be tough to do the rest I would in a minute.
