Yeah I remember how shocked we were at how identical the 2 looked when in person it wasnt like that at all lol

Great pics thanks.

HID looks horrible.

Complete toss up between what looks better, AiB or Lux. But I can tell you AiB melted twice inside my headlight housing. We'll see how Lux does. By looks though it really makes no difference which you choose.

I think people missed the point lol. O well.

The forum is always full of critiques :P

I'm surprised no one's said something like 'needs a drop' haha

In person, IMO, in this lighting, the LUX look the best, the Alpines, then AiB. AiB got too dim at certain angles.
It's great head on, no question about that though.

Is it me, or do all three need a drop and new shoes. There, I said it. LOL

J/K Nice comparison. HIDs do look bright, as I would expect. The AiBs and LUXs are about the same, so just a toss up. I just got the LUXs, but wanted the OSSs. Either ones will do.

Looks like the lamp is on.

I have the Alpine's, and when just the daylight runners are on, they look very crisp and clear in daylight. At night, when the xenons are on, they're identical to the xenon intensity and color (I have the 8K bulbs).
It's hard ot get a good picture of them though. Cameras dont seem to capture what the eye sees.

They don't look like that with the naked eye.

Assuming you're referring to HID, they do, I had a set. In fact they look worse cause it hurts your eyes to look at them they are so bright.

I was.
They're bright, for sure, but that's why I like mine. Many daylight runners you can't even see in daylight. If the idea is to be seen in daylight/dusk...these definitely do the trick.
I was referring to the picture and the "washed out" appearance. I had the same problem trying to photograph mine...I'd get that same look in my photo's, but standing there looking at it in person, no such "wash out".

Xenons aren't on, but the cornering bulbs are one.

Xenons are the outside ones, cornering (and reverse) are the inside bulbs.

if you put your car in reverse, you'll see what I'm talking about, or turn the wheel.

HIDs are bright, without a doubt

Here are Alpine HIDs i had on my Z4:

Notice in the second pic the Xenons are on?

wow that is a very cool comparison shot. Obviously different angles make the angel eyes look different, and its great to see all 3 of them together!

All the cars look great

I do like the brightness of the Alpines, but sometimes too bright as others have mentioned. I would get yelled at by the gate guards in Germany when I was driving on post at night, they asked to please turn the headlights off. I said, "They're not on." Then they'd say, "Well whatever that is, turn it off, you're blinding us." LOL!

Great comparison OP!!! Question for those who have the HID: Any regrets or issues with them? Easy to install? I'm about to pull the trigger on them... I truly hate the OEM headlights so please let me know. Thanks!

nice comparo! thanks!

i think the Alpine's are a little too bright for my taste...i'm very happy with my LUX V3's.....couldn't stand the orange AE's and this is a nice upgrade without being too intense at night.
