Alpine HIDs - Aib v3 - LUX 3.0 Pics

E93 has Alpine HIDs
E92 has AiB V3s
E90 has LUX 3.0
In case it wasn't obvious (cause I'm ignorant when it comes to photography), these are taken by OC3 :P and that is his e90

And that's LateBrakings e92

Besides the HID, the two LED H8s look the same in the pics.

It's hard to tell from the photos, but the difference was more in the color. The AiB V3's were more white, maybe even a tinge of yellow in them, whereas the LUX 3.0's had a more blueish tone to them.

Maybe you can see it in person but in the photos they look identical. I doubt if you didn't have them side by side you would be able to tell.

Nice pics!

I think the HID angel eyes are way too bright. It makes it look like the headlamps are actually on. And I'm guessing they blind everyone on the road at night.

They are pretty damn bright, hence why I got them

What time were these pictures taken? Do the HID's dial down a bit once the full headlights are on just like OEM, or are they always that bright?

Great comparison btw !

Don't like the Alpine's... so bright you lose the shape of the angel eyes (maybe it's because the xenons are on too)... the AiB and Lux look almost the same to me. The other issue is angle plays a big role in pictures with these. The car in the middle will always have the most "flattering" picture due to the angle of the camera.

To me, the LUX look brighter than the AiB. The Alpine's def win the brightness war it appears.

Not going to comment on the angel eyes...
But check out where the OP took the shots. Right smack in the middle of a blvd. LOL

The HID's are way too bright for my taste.

Ok, so now we know The Stig drives an e93 M3 with Alpine HID's.

Is that e92 Le Mans Blue? That's sexy.

Yeah they do actually, quite a lot.

IMHO, the Alpines look the best during the day (with direct sunlight on it), and with the Xenons on.

When it's kind of dim/dark out, they really do get 'too bright'

I feel the perfect Angle Eye kit would be Alpines during the day in direct sunlight (neither the Lux nor the AiB kit compares, I've compared them during the day in direct sunlight), a Lux/Aib kit for dim (like sunset, which this picture was taken), and something in between Alpine/Lux-Aib for at night

but since I rather the lights be bright than dim...I picked the Alpines

Each kit has it's own pros and cons. unfortunately neither are perfect in every way

I've had RED LEDs (v1 and v2), GP Thunders v2, LUX, Alpine, and for me, the Alpines are the best

Yeah you're right about the angle.
But hey, we didn't do this to be like "X kit is better than X kit." As I stated above, each kit has it's +'s and -'s.
We just did it for fun comparisons.

But what you mean the xenons are on? They're not...
But my wheel is turned, so my inner bulb is one (my inner (cornering) bulb is a H3 Blue bulb, so it's on and that's probably what is making you think the xenons are on. They're not as bright in real life)

Actually it was at a dead end :P

a 4 lane dead end. Cars could pass on the left and do a U Turn (which is the ONLY place you could do lol)

This was in Santa Clarita, it's a dead zone over there when you compare it to LA

I know you probably won't believe me, but we took the photo at a 4-lane street dead end, and we used 2 lanes. Typically no cars go up there, but I guess a few people were curious as to why 3 M3's were lined up at a dead end...they would drive up slowly, do a U-turn, and go right back down the hill....

It's actually a nice shot because it's not just 3 different kits but it's actually 3 different E9X M3 models too. You guys did some set up too with the wheels turned on the left and right cars. Well done.

Don't quite understand what's up with the helmet though. I hope you don't wear that in street driving. lol

Indeed (so much so that it lacks definition).

Around 7pm - plenty of daylight. Was my first photoshoot of AE's, so I took a bunch of shots of each scenes/compositions, with varying exposures. For the closeup photo of E93 w/ Alpine, I had to select the photo with the darkest exposure (hence, making it seem like it was at night) because the Alpine in all other (brighter) exposures/shots in that series just came out as white blob (so dang bright).

Yep. It's either my photography skills (or, lack thereof) or the camera/lens (Nikon D300 w/ 18-200 Nikkor lens), but the Lux v3 on E90 M3 (mine) actually look much better in person than AiB on E92 M3 (Latebraking's). Latebraking agrees (he now has Lux v3, lulz).

You don't miss much. The wheels turned were Latebraking's idea. In fact, the whole comparison photoshoot was his idea/suggestion, as well.
