I was at the same situation as you are, I found a 2010 M3 with all the options I wanted but it had a sunroof instead of the CF that I really wanted.
It didnt break the deal for me because it was such a great deal.
I got a 2010 M3 with premium and tech package with 22k miles for 52,500.
I couldnt say no !
It wasn't my first choice either....But my dealer had a good buy on a car on the lot...That bad-boy is now in my garage and I'm not regretting it.

Weigh up how often you would use a sunroof vs how often you would use a CF Roof - My roof on my 135 was open almost daily. If you can notice a different between that and the CF roof (About 40 pounds) you should be driving F1's.

Ditto. Not even a carbon fiber coffin.

Not a "deal breaker" really but you can use it to your advantage to knock down the price a bit...if you're a sunroof guy and will use it/appreciate it.

Last summer I purchased an e92 with a sunroof. It was an impulse purchase and I didn't even think about CF vs. sunroof. If I could do it over I would definitely have bought an M3 with CF since I never open the sunroof and as others have said, the CF roof is cool.

Hmmm, the oppsoite happened to me on my first M3 that I sold. A few people wanted the car with sunroof and tried to haggle on the price because of this.
My second M3 has the sunrrof but it's JzB and I don't miss the two tone top at all.

Sunroof will not effect anything you will notice performance wise on the street. You;ll have the added luxury of the sunroof though. I personally LOVE them. However...IMO the E92 M3 looks it's best with the c/f roof. The first time i saw an a/w with it i gizzed myself. =)

Are you going to track your car? That's the only place the CF roof would make a difference.

but I ended up with a coffin... and I reget it every day. This is the first car I have owned in a long time without a sunroof and it is driving me crazy So I just step on the gas and listen to Arka enhanced music and forget about the sun...

Get the sunroof (because it's nice) and put black vinyl on it. Like mine

I personally would not spend this kind of money on a car and be missing a hole in my roof. All my cars have sunroofs but that is just my preference.

Absolute, 100% dealbreaker. Having the sunroof is a surefire way to ensure your car will be significantly harder to sell to another private party down the road.

I have a sunroof and I use it frequently. Just depends on your personal preference.

I wanted a sunroof but got 8k off one on the lot so I got it. I track it regularly and really can't tell much of a difference (I've driven a couple with the cf roof too) About the same performance effect as having a person in the car as far as lap times go.

Thanks...

Like others have said, it all depends on your preference. As soon as I saw the first E92s with the CF roof, I knew I wasn't going to miss a sunroof at all. I was a little concerned about the claustrophobia factor, so the three months that I was awaiting delivery I never opened the sunroof or the shade on the car I was driving.
Plus I got AW with the CF and the contrast looks amazing.

Carbon fiber is boring.

I love having a sunroof on my new M3. It helps me hear the engine.

the carbon fiber roof is what sets the m3 apart from 99% of other cars out there... it looks very exotic imo.
