Is sunroof on e92 a dealbreaker?

Hey gents - I've found a 2010 M3 with pretty much everything I'm looking for, except that it has a sunroof. Would this be a dealbreaker for you guys? Also, a lot of posts talk about how it degrades performance; how much would it actually effect the numbers such as 0-60, 1/4 mile, etc?

Thanks...

Garage List
I doubt you could notice any performance difference
But to me it's a deal breaker
CF roof is a clincher for me
It's a cool option and not available on 99.9% of cars on the market
Can't begin to tell you how many times I've been asked about it
But
Sunroof is nice
If you could order a custom car
Which would it have?

I Agree, the CF roof is so much nicer than the sunroof but....
I was at the same situation as you are, I found a 2010 M3 with all the options I wanted but it had a sunroof instead of the CF that I really wanted.
It didnt break the deal for me because it was such a great deal.
I got a 2010 M3 with premium and tech package with 22k miles for 52,500.
I couldnt say no !

What colour is it? I ordered a jerez with a sunroof. Think about it: This car has everything you are looking for.

Weigh up how often you would use a sunroof vs how often you would use a CF Roof - My roof on my 135 was open almost daily. If you can notice a different between that and the CF roof (About 40 pounds) you should be driving F1's.

I don't think it's a deal breaker. forget about the performance difference - the sedan M3s are just as fast as the coupes in every way.

I miss having a sunroof sometimes. it has it's appeal. the CF roof does as well, but it's not all that great to me.

I struggled with the cf roof vs sunroof choice coming from a vehicle with a sunroof that I used frequenctly and enjoyed. I chose the cf roof because it is unique to the m3 and I have zero regrets having made that decision. I admire it every time I see the car. Once or twice a week I'll clean the glass and wipe the roof and it instantly makes the roof pop.

The way I see it, if you compermised and bought this car. What if you ran across one with everything you like and no sunroof. Would you regret your desicion to buy the one with the sunroof?

i'm a bit fan of holding out to get a car with the options you want, as i've been impulsive a few times and ended up regretting it. with that said, i see pros and cons regarding the sunroof. i have the cf roof, and although i appreciate the aesthetics (even on a jerez black), i do occasionally miss the extra air. it's such a great car that you really can't lose either way.

I have a sunroof in my car and I like the look better than the CF roof, but it all becomes subjective, and personal preferences really don't mean shit, but only to the buyer who the car will end up with in the first place.

I for one love my sunroof, and like what the previous post said, if you can feel the difference, then you should be in an F1 or perhaps you've been drinking too much of the CF Kool-Aid that BMW's passing around.

for me it's about looks, and carbon fiber looks waaay cooler. so yes it's a deal breaker, for me anyway.

If it's a black car And you want it for looks I wouldn't go for it, the cf roof really comes out on any other color

For me I love the sunroof, when I drive my dads m6 I have a habit of going for the sunroof button and get let down when it's not there lol then I just punch the throttle and there's a huge smile on my face!

Carbon fiber roof is why I drive the E92 and not the E90. IMO it really sets the car apart.

The sunroof looks great on the 335is yet out of place on the M3. Hmm.

If head room is an issue, CF gives you more.
