Once again, this proves M3 is the "best car in the world".

for the money, you cannot buy a better car.

Yeah but which car is more fun as a daily driver? I'd guess its the C63.

Every time a car comes out that could be considered even remote competition for the M3, there is an article on the front page of E90post that generally reads, "X vs M3 test, M3 still better than X!"
Not only does it come off as a little repetitive, but it also seems a bit biased. We all know the M3 is an incredible car, better than most cars could ever hope to be, but what really matters is what each individual likes. People don't generally (I said generally, mind you) buy one car over another based on differences of hundredths of a second around a track, they buy it because they like the way it looks, sounds and drives. There may be another car in a similar class that posts a better time at the 'ring, but let's face it, most drivers' time is not spent on the Nurburgring; it is spent on the road. The M3's engine, a technological masterpiece, is happiest when being wound up. That's just the nature of the car and it's great, the exhaust note is intoxicating and the DCT only serves to enrich the whole experience. But having to wind the engine to get the most out of it all the time wears on some people. The C63 seems like it might be a more compliant daily driver, with the occasional country road left rattled in its wake. The M3 is a track star with no equal on many levels, true precision built perfection.

In the end, it all depends on what the driver wants and how the car makes them feel.

Sorry, but if you have to guess, then it's pretty unbased. And you would be guessing wrong.

I've owned C63 AMG and M3 sedan back to back and can say unequivocally that the M3 is more fun as a daily driver, even with less torque. Some people think the torque of the C63 makes it automatically more fun on the streets. Not true. Even with the torque disadvantage, the M3 is tons more nimble and has so much more road feel. That to me makes a better daily driver, not a torquey car which feels best when pointed straight.

And you basically only see articles saying "M3 wins against XXXX" because it's been that good against its competition. It's not biased, it's merely true.

How is posting 3rd party magazine/online publication reviews biased? M3Post didn't write the articles... they are just letting everyone know they are there.

This is a BMW blog. It's BIMMERpost not CARpost

Of course good things related to bimmers are going to be featured.

Honestly, I'm also getting a bit suspicious as to how this car is just always BETTER than every car they stack it against?

Because it's the best? Lol I didn't think the people of m3post would start hating on the continuous winning streak of the e9x m3. How many car manufacturers get to say they created a car that was best in it's class for the duration of it's life span?

This is one of the cases of if you don't like it then why come here, read it and then bother to post a pretty long rant about it?

On another note its absolutely hilarious to me that merc must try so hard to out muscle the m3 with the amg. First with the 4 door c63, then the increased power c63. Now they revamp suspension and do the coupe and STILL these articles give the nod to the m3!

Anyone else notice the m3 "low on torque" still clinched a faster quarter mile and 0-60 time-this was by the writers themselves so was a direct comparison head to head. So much for "torque wins races" For those that say the m3 is no fun in the city I would wonder if it goes faster to 60mph than how is that not fun times in the city
Because every time you go near the damn freaking throttle in a C63 the damn traction control light turns on. I test drove one earlier this week and I was going crazy. The stupid TC would cut in with a tip of the throttle. I gave up after 15 minutes and just rode back to the dealership. Amazing car. Amazing exhaust note, Amazing seats, Too much power for it's own good. Very nice to have 481HP and 444 ft lbs of torque under your right foot though. Chirping your tires in any gear at any RPM puts a smile on your face time after time and never gets old.

Winding an engine wears thin after a while for some because in day to day, you need get up and go off the line, not when you're at 80MPH. I ride sport bikes so revving to 16k is what I do on a day to day basis.

So you're saying that because it's a BMW enthusiast site that all other brands and contenders should be immediately dismissed and disregarded by default? Talk about a sheltered existence.

I'm not suggesting that E90post put up articles about Saabs and Fords, you know that's a dumb notion and not at all what I was saying. What I was getting at is that other car forums have members that manage to post (mostly) unbiased responses regarding the particular strengths and weaknesses of the 2+ cars in any given comparo, however I have noticed that does not occur here very often, if ever. I come here because E90post is chock full of awesome threads and tons of useful information, not to mention the wealth of pics and vids of members' cars and their mods. I was just mentioning the occasional lack of mature discourse regarding cars in general, this constant 'BMW is infallible' thing kind of gets old.

So yeah, I love BMW, I plan on picking up an F10 M5. I just think that as car enthusiasts we should also be able to appreciate the good aspects of any and every car.

Either you want to gun it and take off or you want to ease of normally. If you want to gun it then get the revs up and launch it. If you want to go normally than 295 foot pounds is more than enough at 3-4k rpms to pull away gingerly.

Nobody needs 500 foot pounds to pull away from a light in a liesurely fashion
295 ft lbs of torque is fine for a Cayman that weights 3000 pounds fully loaded, not an M3 that weights 3700 pounds. Having that much power is just fun. Knowing you can gun it and just point it where you want makes you giggle. The C63 with P31 is a force to be reckoned with. The car is an all out hooligan. Not sure if you've test driven one but do it and you won't regret it. It really is a fun car. The only thing that was bothering me was the stupid TC that would cut in. If I was getting a C63, you can be sure I'd have the P31 Development Package included. The M3 hides with subtle tweaks. The C63 likes to tell everyone it's there. Me? The Me's glorious engine note is not something I'd pass up.

That has a definite appeal.

Having come out of a C63 into a M3 I am enjoying the hell out of the explosively and freely revving S65 V8. It's a different beast and I like it but don't discount the everyday fun of a large displacement engine.
I had a C63. Till the engine blew up at 14k. Yes it pushes you in the seat. But how is that a parameter for choosing a DD??? DD type things are going to work, or running errands.

I used to have a 1970 Chevelle SS that pushed you back in the seat with torque. It wasn't a good DD

Long live the M3.

I'd get it with the excellent 6 speed standard transmission. Merc doesn't even offer it on their higher-performance cars.
