Paint and install VRS GTS3 front bumper: quoted $600, now asking $1,100!?

I bought a Vorsteiner GTS3 front bumper and was quoted around $600 to paint and install the bumper by the shop. Now, I got the bumper and the body shop is asking around $1,100. WTF? Is the shop trying to play me or that's the right price? BTW, my car is mineral white.

Sounds way too high. $110 is the quote I got to replace my bumper, paint and install. That includes the ~$500 cost of a new OEM bumper cover. This was also at a BMW certified body shop.

$110 to repaint a front bumper?

Unless that's spray paint, you won't find that around here....

anywhere from $400-700 is what I've been quoted

I had my front bumper damaged my a woman after 2 weeks of ownership

The shop I got to repainted and fixed my bumper and you can't tell it happened

I'll PM you the details.

My car in mineral white and it is a pain in the ass to paint match, but they got it :P

actually sounds about right unfortunately. Even the 'almighty' vorsteiner products have fitment issues and need adjustment for proper fitment. If you want another shop to have a look and possibly do it for cheaper, send me a PM. I just had my Amuse rep adjusted, tweaked and painted for less than that (but was quoted about 1100 by 2 other shops)

Either way, good luck.

400-600 for paint and install is normal for an OEM bumper with a pretty good fit and a normal color. If you are talking a difficult color and an aftermarket bumper then it is entirely possible to double that estimate.

Definitely on the high side... $500 to $600 is normal.

price is about right on aftermarket bumpers , installed and painted..... any aftermarket parts need to be install and reinstall to make perfect fitment . go to a company that has worked on aftermarket bumpers....

When I had my Vorsteiner trunk lid painted, body shop ended up charging me more as well due to finishing issues on the carbon fiber...

LOL! Bullsh!t...

A good body shop will charge around $1,000 to paint and install a bumper. You can probably get it done for less, but NOT for $100. LOL. Even if someone would paint and install my bumper for $100, I wouldn't do it.

I don't think $1,100 is out of the question, but you might want to shop it out becuase you can probably get it done for around $700-$800 bucks.
