You guys should have bought 335s. I drive in 6th on the highway and enjoy the engine sound around town. I'm getting about 14. Seriously, to get 18 mpg with this car, you need to do every shift at 3k RPM.

What is a pain about this car isn't really the mileage, it's the size of the gas tank. The manual says the tank holds 16 gal. I've added 15.8. I just can't believe it holds only 16 including the reserve. Has anyone added more than 16? The thing's got to have another 2 gallons in it.

from my experience, when driving at 55mph on the highway back from the track (hey I'm tired) I get about 25MPG, which I think is great.

when driving around town with a mix of highway, I'm at 15.

just town is 13

I'm not a heavy foot but I do like to downshit and hear it rev match :P

OP - i came from a 335i and the milage difference is very noticable. With UK fuel prices being so high it means you will be spending quite a lot of extra cash on fuel - in fact i would say that the M3 is probably one of the worst cars you could have bought if fuel consumption is important to you.

This is after my battery died and had to reset everything

I drove highway 90% street 10%

Highway speeds 65-70, hit 80 a couple of times. No WOT

Street 30-40mph, hit about 10 red lights.

Car sat in idle for a total of 10 minutes since battery reset, drive and this picture (excluding red light)

About a 120 mi drive
