How to fix deeper scratch on Jerez Black?

I recently purchased a 2009 Jerez Black M3 and I'm overall very happy with it, but it has a fairly deep scratch on the roof.

The scratch is about 6" long and appears white. I'm assuming the primer is a light color and that's why the scratch appears so light. I don't need to fix it perfectly, but I'd at least like to get rid of the whitish look. I could use a felt marker to color in the white, but I'm sure there is a better way.

I've seen mention of using black paint on a cloth and rubbing it over the scratch repeatedly to slowly fill it in. I've also seen an approach where paint is blobbed on then wet sanded down to level with the existing paint. I don't think I'm up for doing that approach for such a long scratch, but I would be up for doing something to partially fill it and remove the white color.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
