I always thought Remus Sport sounded awesome.

i know its made out of inconel but i have to agree with you.

2 giant balls hanging in the back doesnt look any better than the OEM.

I couldn't have a more opposite opinion than you on lack of sound from M Performance, in my opinion it blows away the Akra's rather dull hollow sound.

Yeah, this is really the best way. Go get some rides, windows up and windows down. You don't want to do what I have done and try all the exhausts on the market.

By the way, Remus has 2 versions of the muffler now, I believe. Same muffler cans, but different tips with little CF inserts. I saw the tip design below on my friend's Mini Cooper S, they looked really good. They also sell their own connecting pipes. See pictures below.

Why have a car with a V8 if you don't like the sound of the V8?

Kyoshi,

Sounds like your getting the itch

True it's hard to find locals around here with exhaust mods. My Eis Sport w/ Challenge street is about broken in now if you want to catch a listen of that setup. It's super smooth, not raspy at all.

Ha! Yeah I have some downtime in the evenings. Trying to find a decent meet to check out some cool cars without the ghetto stoping by. Maybe OBI on Sunday's if that's still going?

Glen Cove Cruise Nights on Thursdays. MAC organizes a whole bunch of cars to meet up at their shop first and cruise over there.

WHY HAVE THE CAR? cause i love the M3 its simple as that. with or without a V8

if i can avoid the V8 sound i will, it just took me 1 1/2 years to find it though.

For me I wanted the V8 as it is the last year in production for the Sedan. I went with the Performance Exhaust as I had it on my 2006 330i and loved the sound. I still love the sound in my car however at times it does get annoying when accelerating. When cruising you do not hear the exhaust at all which is nice as it give the people in the cabin a break from the grumble. Overall I am very pleased with the BMW PE and would recommend it to anyone who does not want something too loud or an attention getter.

Thanks for the rational response. I am actually glad to read this because it makes sense why you have the Akra if you don't like the V8 sound. I have always thought the Akra is the best engineered exhaust, best looking, and the full system creates great power, but the sound is lacking (IMO) because it changed the car's normal exhaust characteristics. I love V8's!

Why you love the Akra makes perfect sense now. What about all you other guys?

I love the V8 sound. It's extremely unique sound this car has and miles away from any American muscle car.

I think it's funny how people think exotics sound high pitched and claim they don't like the bass sound from cars. If you've ever stood next to a Ferrari or Lambo you'd notice they have a deep bass sound that you can feel rumble in your stomach, but then at WOT they scream. Without that deep bass filling out the sound of the exhaust it would sound like a cheap import car, that has a small engine with a loud exhaust. Just my opinion.

JleviSW is the one who put it up, but I imagine anyone that can get Remus can help you out with these. I got my original version through RennSpec, I know **********s also carries Remus, and my Mini buddy got his Remus exhaust by calling Remus USA or something like. He got a good deal by calling Remus USA if I remember correctly.
