I can't believe that most complain abt their mpg, this car is known (as many bimmers) not to be so fuel eficient, so what's the beef? Isn't that the price to pay for a car like this, if not, why did you (or any) buy it at all? A couple have mentioned to get a fuel efficient small car or other as a daily driver, it's a good idea if that is the problem and if you drive too long or too much time in traffic.

When I got mine and asked the mileage, I was told that at this level of car and price that I should not be asking (ouch but so true). Mine is a weekend car and I don't care what it does in mileage, think about how much a shrink costs per hour , I'll take the bad mileage, thanks

M3 drivers complaining about the price of gas is like hookers complaining about STDs. It comes with the territory.

When I purchased my car, the MPG readout said 9.2

I couldn't believe it...

I didn't notice anywhere in the thread where I complained about paying for gas?

I was just remarking on my terrible MPG!

True but have you seen the mpg on an e60 M5? And still, what can you expect from a high performance 4.0 litre 8400 rpm NA engine on the M3? I'll help you out a litltle, extremely crappy mpg. What costs more, the gas or the shrink? By no means is this personal, just opinions.

Thinking about getting a M3 vert...
My Dinan stg 2 335i is avg. 17.2. I reverse commute from NYC- LI 4 days a week, about 250 miles. Looks like an avg. for 4.0's are 12mpg. Avg. Gas price these days are like $4.30.

Dinan 335= $62.50/ week
e93 M3= $89.58/ week

Hmmmm... Fawk I still want the M///

Haters ALWAYS gonna hate! geez

Where do you live OC3? I see your "SoCal" isn't very descriptive.

Lastly, before this I lived in NYC and paid exorbitant rent there, at least here I have an ocean 2 blocks away.
I agree with living near the beach thing. I find it hard to live further away now that I've been living near the beach for the past 4 years. BTW, I live up the PCH 1 from you...near Oxnard. Always loved the drive back down to Santa Monica
