I am sure that the waiting list is 160 at Hyde Park alone! Unlike MB SA, BMW SA wonít have exact numbers of customers on waiting lists. 160 units will average about 2 cars per dealer in the year. I remember the same sort of numbers being mentioned on the M5 (this quickly changed to much more units).

Thanks for the info! Are you on the list?

I am 1st but now my dealer is considering demoing the 1st car being allocated to them.

On the SA list

I am on the list for the Cab - god knows how long that will take!

Hyde Park says that a lot of people drop off the list when it comes to specing the actual car and placing deposits etc.

In noted that they had 3 M6s on the dealer floor - and it was not long ago that the waiting list on this was considered 1 year. So I guess you can't believe much what they say.

Price

The new M3's price will be announced next week. Expect it to be between R630 and R645K.

More than the RS4

That is the more than the RS4 - which is a bit surprising. If you are right then I guess it will be interesting to compare the options that are included.

EDC will be an option (expensive option). Full pricing and option list will be available on Friday afternoon. The M3 will also be on the system for June spec cars (September delivery). My prediction on price is R640 000.00.

It was wishful thinking from my side.... it's such a pity that they will make EDC an expensive option.

Please share the pricing info if you get it ... and knowing BMW, I wouldn't be surprised if they price the M3 above your prediction... and that will probably push most people towards the sedan M3 (assuming it will be a lot cheaper than the Coupe)... and that is a good thing for the Coupe buyers, as more E90 M3's will make the E92 M3 relatively exclusive.

Hey Fleet... yep, it's been a long time indeed.

I'm still around here (M3Post and E90Post) almost daily... with a few posts here and there.... I'm just itching to see the pricing info for the M here in SA.

yeah curious to know the prices ... I'm sure Nav will be standard, like in the 335i's ... if the RS4 is R622k, it should be around this mark ... just so BMW can be competitive ... but then again my 335i vert cost R615k! which was a shocker, cause when i ordered i did not think base would be more than the E46 ///M3 base... also seeing the E60 ///M5 (almost a bar) is a whole lot more than the previous E39 ///M5 ( i think the list was R700k in 2003), maybe BMW shocks us and prices the ///M3 well over R700k ...

But us South Africans will still buy it ... since we love our cars so much

Amazed ...people ordering in 2001, i ordered last year and got position 4 at Berea City in PTA which might become 1, cause 1,2 and 3 is an order from the same person and dealers suspect its a dealer ... i will only take the car is 08 ... still want to enjoy my vert ... i dont want the first batch of these cars, cause in the past ///M models namely E60 ///M5 and E46 ///M3 .. was troubles

I still feel it will be closely matched performance wise with the RS4 ... Audi has raised the bar quite high ... I drove the RS4, its soft, nice car but a BMW ///M is a BMW ///M

Sat nav will be an option. At least they will throw in a no cost option sun roof that I suspect no one will order. According to my source the pricing bulletin is ready to go, it was supposed to be sent out on Friday. I expect it to be out next week and Iím sticking to my previous prediction of R640 000-00.

Sat Nav an option

Surprises me that Sat Nav will be an option on the M3 when it is standard here on the 335i - guess we'll see soon.

I thought that Base cost of the 335i vert was R577k? You must have added options if you paid R615k

There has been a delay in the sending out of the bulletin. According to my source it will definitely be out this week. (BMW Germany was not happy with some of the pricing on option packs)

That would mean that in your country Bmw E92 M3 would be more expensive than the Audi RS4 ( according to car configurator on Audi South Africa web page RS4 costs 598,000 Rand ). http://www.audi.co.za/

That info does not sounds very reliable to me but of course everything is possible. Hope that RS4 would cost more.
