I will answer your question in detail but for now....

We shoot all over South Africa particularly in the vicinity of Cape Town . It's just the perfect combination of excellent backdrops , glorious weather , great coastal, driving roads and very friendly people...

We have just finished a shoot in Valencia in Spain at America's Cup with an Alpine White M3 and M6 were photographed at night alongside the Carbon fibre hull of the BMW oracle racing yacht. It's all to do with BMW amping up the "Efficent Dynamics" angle with the sharing of lightweight technology...

I know...Fleet can be an online ambassador of sorts...scouring the internet, monitoring various concerns, answering questions that sort of thing...basically something he's been doing the last few years

It's less glamourous than it sounds but a high point is that it is good to see your ideas being realised after all the brainstorming ,frustration and deadlines on the brief. And of course the plaudits and awards... My job is to make the actual designers look good .

I do get to travel but living out of a suitcase is hard work because as well as locations we have to hire and bring a film crew , secure permission with Police and local authorities to shut down roads,streets,security etc.
The good thing is everything is linked now from video and digital image to high speed data transfer so we can get approval and suggestions in the click of a mouse...

For the M3 there is the fact that it is an M3 - an icon so i wanted to represent it's status in the fact the M3 is a performance icon And that no matter how they try. The competition are not even on the same page as an
M3 - Alpine White was chosen because we wanted the M3 to stand out .

But there have been some funny moments, In 2001 in South Africa whilst shooting the E65 7er - The model hired to drive the car started to play about with the i-drive and drove the car into a ditch.

So thats what happened

I heard a rumour a long long time ago about a E65 that crashed during a photo shoot

Thought it may have just been a rumour, but looks like it was true
