I just got back from a trip where I had to drive a Kia Picanto (60hp...).

It really did make me miss my M. The gf refers to it as my other girlfriend.

That is funny

I say you need to buy the wife a better car lol. My wife is in love with her car and now understands how a person can love a machine. I think it's about finding the car that matches the driver. Most drivers never get that feeling since they are buying the wrong cars for them.

I believe things like this is why so many of us are on here so much lol This is a place where we can name all the anal retentive things that we do (Which 90% of others don't understand why), ask questions and just generally BS about anything.

We may only know each other by our user names but we understand each other. It is by no means "Just a car" to us

All 128hp of it

If it has a stick, it's undoubtedly more fun to drive than an automatic CTS-V...

It's a double edge sword, you have your car and it's great but are you comfortable with all the miles, food, trash, parking situation that you are encountering.

I feel your pain, when I'm on the west coast especially around the sonoma or monterey area, it burns extra not having my car.

I thought about a road trip to south beach in my car, then I remembered 95 south construction, rock chips, crappy downtown parking...

Yes Yes Yes.

Don't forget the no food rule and the quick detailer in the trunk.

Haha, I'm a 25 year old spoiled brat. I'm just a loaner these days, so I like to keep to myself lately. But when it comes to cars, I enjoy a good manually operated sports car that to drive around wherever I go. I hate not driving, but I hate not driving a car worth my time.

Eh, it's just not that great of a car to drive in a comfortable way, to me. I don't like the seats nor the steering wheel, so it's uncomfortable. If I'm trucking down a back road, sure, it'll be fun. But driving down the highway with cruise control on? It's not fun at all. The M3 is at least comfortable and makes you feel good when you're cruising.

You know you're obsessed...

...when, after parking, your wife says "I can see the Mall. It's over there."

Every time.

Hahaha, all of those are so true in my case, except I don't have children. But something interesting. As I said earlier, I'm on a vacation with my family, including my sister's 5 kids. Her two oldest, 15 and 14 years old, have gotten addicted to watching Top Gear UK on my laptop. So now all they want to do at night is come over and watch Top Gear episodes with me (I've got every episode, including a lot of the old, original show). I'm such a proud uncle!

I got you beat lol, my boy just turned 7 and knows the above and the paint names for BMW. He helped build his mom's M3. Two house down the guy just picked up a clean e46 m vert. He was like dad they have a e46 m in apline white. I was like BS walked down the street and it was sitting in the garage. The man walked out and was like your kid knows more about this car then I do. lol

As soon as I got the 5 home he was like Dad lets debadge it now lol. We got the floss and went to town. I think I am in trouble when he starts driving. Last week he said, I think I want a sick jeep as my first ride and then I want to buy an M3. He was like I want to keep the jeep, so I can drive it in bad weather. He wants a sick jeep as a beater, oh boy and the sad part is I think this is 100% normal.
