I owned a 335d ex bmw driving school car, went like a rocket!

No real difference just don't own it out of warranty and I got a good price. At least it was looked after in between being driven hard. You can say that about very used one....

And yes I bought a used m3 under dealer warranty and loving it!

Cheers

I have to agree w kiwistu, if you can get a good price go for it.

I worry more about the tools who start the engine cold then rev it hard than I do track miles at operating temp under appropriate maintenance.

According to instructors there, When they arrive new, they take them on road trips and get to drive them home, etc. to break them in properly before cutting them loose on the track. fwiw.

Funny thing is though, some poor guy WILL end up buying it with/without the knowledge of the car being tracked, and will learn a ver sad lesson.

According to the Carfax it was never owned so they would think the car was a show car or something. The sales associates gonna be calling me up tomorrow though.... Gotta explain to him why I don't want it.

I assume it was tracked or driven hard so would this pose any future problems? It was painted and refurbished at their factory so it's excellent but what about the motor or the driving that was done to it?
Why on earth was it painted and refurbished with only 9,000 miles? For $58,000, I wouldn't touch it with your ..well yeah..you get the idea.

If it had a new clutch, brakes, tires and didn't need to be painted I might get one if it was a smoking deal. But given that it needed to be painted who knows WTF happened to that car!?
But bottom line... hooker...lady parts...that's all you need to know. LOL!

OP I almost fell for this too a couple years back. There was an 08 E90 M3 JUST like the one I have for sale for a GREAT price at the dealer. I was thinking WTF? Turned out it was from the test track and beaten on. It went through the same refurbishment that this one did. I almost got it for $45,000 and it was two years old. I ended up walking away and using my head. I got the same speech from everyone above and honestly it was the right decision. Saved for a couple years and got a brand new one

The car will show as never owned because it was never titled. Since it belonged to BMW it didn't need a title and wasn't driven on the street

you should go on the BMW experience website to watch M-Track Days in S.C. Cars get beat to hell.

The hooker scenario is very accurate. Do you know how many people have driven that car? I'd guess easily 200 or more. It's like a hotdog down a hallway, a hooker with a bunch of coverup hiding her scabies.

I just got back from the BMW Performance center in SC, and as with what everyone has said...they are beat on EVERYDAY....all day....HARD. It is not even like a "Regular" Track car...in which the car has some down time for rebuilding. Constantly driven to redline, daily...until something breaks down or they need to replace it. I was not even aware these cars would be sold. Even if they come with a warranty...not even worth it at 50% of market value. The dealer probably bought the car for SUPER cheap, trying to make huge profit from one unlucky sucker.

if i remember correctly the dealer won't fully warranty the car. They would be an idiot to do that.

I think it's unethical to NOT report their history..But again ethics and car dealers are like oil and water.
