Side by side movies

Hey fellas,

I am recording my track videos with GoPro HD and would like to create side by side videos on the same screen. Kinda like split screen.

Historically, I used windows live movie maker for basit editing, and it doesn't do split screen.

Do you guys have any software suggestions that easliy can accomplish this that supports MP4 file format?

I use a Windows computer.

premiere pro or sony vegas? I don't really know of any cheap or free video editing software on the pc

I've used Vegas for just about everything. It seemed far easier to use than Premiere, but that's just me. It will easily do that.

Oh I thought you wanted it for a one time thing. In that case if you're going to buy an NLE might as well get Avid Media Composer. Pretty safe to say its becoming the industry standard. If you're not into editing all that much then go with Premiere Pro. The interface is similar to other adobe products so you won't have a hard time adjusting.
