Anyone tried Toyo R888 on their M3?

I recently got the CCW 18x10, 18x11. Seeking tires. I plan to go 275/35 and 305/35. Not many choices... I track whenever I have the chance, so the 888s fit my need just right. Toyo says they are "street legal"... but are they really fine in wet?

They are fine in wet if you have TC on. Also, it depends on your driving skill level.

They are fine to and from the track. Around town they are loud and uncomfortable. In the rain they are OK at highway speeds. If you even have to ask about wet traction go with something else.

I would go with something else if you are driving the car everyday.

I ran several sets of these on my Elise and they are my choice for a track tire that car. Having said that i wouldn't run these my M. They wear pretty quickly on my 1900lb car so i can't imagine the wear rate on a car twice as heavy.

Wow, 8 days huh, that's pretty damn good. I get 2 weekends out of the rears on my Elise. Fronts last 3 times as long, as expected. Great tires though.

Last night i ordered a set of Hankook R-S3's. First set i've ever run so we'll see how they do. Very cheap, i think the Nitto's were about the only others in the same price range.

I agree, these things are toast after a few (2-4) days on a stock engined Miata if you're driving them at the limit.

There's no way the guy is driving hard/fast. 10-20 heat cycles before they're toast. 5-6 optimal ones after the initial heat cycle or two.

IF you're not pushing the limit, then any tire is going to last a LONG time. When I started racing SM my tires would last 4-6 race weekends. By my third season (driving close to/at lap record pace) tires were lasting 1/4 as long.

I do not care - I wouldn't run the r888 on the m3. Plenty of faster tires out there.

You are not fitting 305/35 on a r888 on this car.. just saying.

I ran a 265/295 set up.. great tire for sure.

when it rained i was scared shitless though.
