Contact Paper over Clear Bra for track prep
Hey All,
Let me first apologize for the newbie question. I know I might get flamed, but was wondering if you guys feel there is a need to put a layer of clear contact paper for protection even over my clear bra for my first track day, which I will be in the BMWCCA D group? I was thinking of taping up larger areas of the car in the front and right behind the fender? No need? or better to play it safe? Any helpful comments or suggestions would be appreciated. |

Once you placed the clear Bra on, that should be enough protection.
Don't over worry it.... ![]() Says the guy with the blue painters tape on the front of his car...........

Dont worry about it for your first event. Do you have the full frontal wrap? It doesn't matter now, but if you go more often and get better, you'll get tar/rubber/gigantic bugs/sand/ etc. kicked up past the bulge. Either way, you dont need to protect the clear bra. That's what it's there for. And regular bug/tar remover does not work on clear bra. I recommend getting a bottle of TLR from Premier. It's specially made for clear bra.

I would do the contact paper, then blue painter's tape on top, then contact paper again on top of the painter's tape.
And cover the entire car.

Thanks most of you for the help, I will just go with it and have fun!
I'll be sure to upload some videos, got a neat little camera mount with high perspective, lets you alter the mounting position 360 degrees around an axis. |

+1 If you are going fast enough, you will be concerned about rearranging the body on the guardrail, but rock chips will not enter your mind.

That's the reason I don't get a clear bra.
You end up being paranoid about it getting nicked up because it's more visable than getting a small paint chip. It's why I got one of these: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=539273 I would put that shelving paper on the headlights and the mirrors. Have fun and I'll see you there. .
