UUC Corsa Exhaust-Ceramic Coated Black
Installed the UUC Corsa exhaust last week. There have been several reviews on this but I will do another as I have modified it cosmetically....havent seen pics of this exhaust painted black so this should give people an idea what it would look and sound like.
For me, the Corsa exhaust is the best of both worlds...see video below(external camera mount video) for sound. Pros: not too loud hence wont wake up neighbors, has a high euro exotic pitch(ala BMW Performance Exhaust???...well kinda), doesnt drone for most part, screams quite loud when car driven aggressively, reasonable cost below 2K...the rev matching on downshifts on the DCT is quite obvious now, esp on S4. Cons: welds are ugly, cans hang too low, tips not pretty ...hence cosmetically its abit of an eye sore....there is very slight drone at 3300rpm in 6th at 70mph but not too bothersome. Solution: had the cans ceramic coated in stain black...the tips were ceramic coated in gloss black although hard to tell in pics....tips are OEM diameter but doesnt look too bad in person although I would agree 83mm would have been a better choice. Unaltered: look at discolored welds ![]() ![]() Ceramic Coated: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Link to youtube video until video embeds on here. Although I normally don't like the look of this exhaust, the black coating makes it look MUCH better. Actually looks decent!! Great job.

Really like the sound of the Corsa but looks/construction always turned me off. This looks pretty damn good, nice work.

Thx for the comments guys...I am happy with the results....cans not noticeable at all anymore, the oem single can was way more noticeable.
L4CES, check PM. Kitw, I had a place called Finish Line Coatings in PDX do it...took 5 days and cost 240.00....btw, I listened to your Corsa youtube video at least 20 times before i pulled the trigger... . |

Good sounding exhaust that really needs that treatment that you did to look half way decent.

Cans can be painted with $5 flat-black high-temp paint folks, and would look the same. Even painted black, I wouldn't buy this system for that alone, but the real deal-breaker for me would be the drone (it wasn't supposed to drone any, especially right at cruising range).
Corsa could have easily turn the cans upside down for a much more shallow protrusion; there's plenty of space above. But the drone just kills it for me. Last edited by elp_jc; 06-02-2011 at 05:22 PM. |

There is a slight drone at 3300 rpms in 6th...but its slight...from what most people say, this drone is much much less than most other exhausts.
Kitw, thx for posting the video...of course I am too old and stupid to be able to do it on my own... ....![]() |

I met up wth Mact333 today to listen to his UUC Corsa exhaust. It sounds really good and looks good painted in black. I need to pull the trigger on something fast or start cutting holes LOL.
Here is video with me trailing using a GoPro attached to my bumper. I thought the audio would be much better so I have to do some experimenting to improve, but still, I hope it is good enough. |

I would worry about my camera falling off with that!
I know what you mean in regard to differentiating. Consider this, you were at a distance ahead of me and notice in the video that you could hear yours. The only time you heard mine was at heavy throttle to catch up, but I kept letting off so that I could capture yours. Without a doubt, your car will always be heard from behind whether you like it or not. On my way home, I passed an elderly man in a Suzuki car. I did it tastefully in 3rd gear. As i was turning at the corner, I heard 2 beeps that conveyed a thumbs up. I turn quickly and he waved. So he enjoyed the sound and that's my stock. I can't wait to get something tastefully louder. "wouldn't" Last edited by L4ces; 06-05-2011 at 09:04 PM. |

Exhaust sound was just yours
; only thing you could hear from L4ces car was the typical engine whine from the cam gears, which is entirely different. Sounds really good, by the way . Corsas are known not to drone, but somehow they screwed up with the M3, which is probably more prone to drone than any other car out there. They needed a bigger chamber. And painted black it looks the best, so you should sell it quickly. Good luck. |

I agree with you that the Corsa for M3 does have a slight drone right around 3200 rpm's(well mine does anyway)...but I think it is slight...doesnt bother me much at all. BTW, I know you previous said a 5.00 high temp paint would look exactly like mine but I am not convinced of this...my black has a slight shine to it in person(my tips were done in glossy black and cans satin black)and isnt a "flat" black...but worth 240.00?..prob only to me... .I know you dont care for the Corsa much in any color but I like it...suits me well anyway...exhausts are so subjective. |

Usurbrainm3 Innotech setup has me all messed up now. I even pm'd Rimier. That is one step closer to insanity.
Well now I have to our through the threads to gather the skinny on Innotech. The cost is close the BMW performance and it appears from you tube videos that it sounds fairly similar. |

Flat black paint is going to hide the best, which is what I want in an exhaust, but you can buy black high-temp paint at least in flat and semi-gloss. A matter of personal preference. And if I said 'identical', I meant color not sheen
. The exhaust sounds great, and by painting it black you eliminated 80% of the reason why people don't buy it (awful looks), so you'll sell it soon. I'm very sensitive to drone, and I use the car primarily to travel, so it's a big deal to me. Otherwise I'd have one by now. Sounds really good IMO. But it's loud . No complaints from the neighbors? Take care. |
