Smile Just ordered an ESS VT-1 535 Kit from IND

I think the additional power will keep me satisfied with the M3 for another couple of years. This kit seems like the best value regarding HP gain for the money.

I went with the "Black Edition", and I was fortunate in that someone had ordered a VT-1 535 kit, and then upgraded to the VT-2 575 kit before taking delivery of the VT-1 535 kit. As a result, I won't have the normal two week lead time from the factory in Norway. It will still need to be painted and powder coated, but I should have it fairly quickly.

I am looking forward to joining the ESS Supercharged Club!

nice pick up!

Any reason why you went with the VT-1 535 over the VT-2 575?

I went with the VT-1 535 kit because it adds 120 HP at a cost of roughly $8,700 "Black Edition" which works out to about $72 / each HP gain. This kit actually makes about 550 HP if you run 93 octane which works out to $64 / each HP gain.

The VT-2 575 kit is nearly $13,600 "Black Edition" which works out to about $85 / HP gain.

It just seems like the VT-1 535 kit gives the greatest HP gain for the dollars spent, and I will likely only keep the car for another couple of years so this was a consideration. Also, many on the forum speak very highly of the practical performance of this kit when compared to the higher HP versions.

Besides, there is really not a significant penalty if you decide to upgrade to a VT-2 version kit at a later time. The upfront cost difference compared to the upgrade cost are fairly close. This defined upgrade path is just another reason why ESS is such a great way to go!!

Im doing pulleys and tune next. already did intake/xpipes/exhaust. next month dinan rear end.

Then... well i was thinking of a TTRS but after you take the depreciation hit, the WSS S/C kits pays for itself.

Congrats, that is the way to go.

13,600/ 85 = 160hp

414+160 makes 574 crank hp?
