Recommended Engine Oil

Gents I have an '11 M3 convertible 9K miles My oil change not due for another 6K miles or so, but the engine level getting toward the low mark. I'll likely want/need to "top it off" beforehand, so what is the recommended oil for this engine? I swear I tried reading tha manual, but to me, it was not at all clearly indicated in there. Also, was trying to avoid having to drive to the dealership if it is a brand/viscosity that I can obtain at a local auto parts store. Thanks

Your dealership might top off the oil for you free of charge if the car is asking for it. It depends on the dealer.

The car uses BMW Castrol TWS Motorsport 10w60 synthetic oil. You can get it at the dealership or online.

Go to the dealership and buy a few liters. I just bought a couple of cases at the local dealer for $12.50 a quart. It can't hurt to have some sitting around.

Agreed, Dealerships should top you off. Mine has given me an extra bottle just for keeping on hand.

Further, I keep a bottle in the car at all times.

Thanks guys called my service guy, and he had me come in, and gave me two quarts....for free classy touch!
