2011 M3  [3.37]
Just bought another M3!

I just put my deposit down on a new M3!!

Suffice it to say I am VERY excited. Some background... I have always had knee problems much of my life. Never bad enough for surgery (IMO) but bad enough that I can't really run much, sometimes have problems going up stairs and, most importantly, sometimes have a lot of pain depressing the clutch on my 6MT Well, over the past few months, I have come to the realization that I needed to make a change because there were days I avoided driving the car because of this... other days (most really) it was fine.

So, I found a buyer for my 2010 E92 M3 and will take delivery of my 2011 (I should say 2011.75 ) E92 M3 in about 10 days. The dealer found one to my specs on a ship coming to Canada that was unclaimed and I'm getting it... ship arrives in Halifax on the 25th and since I live in Halifax will get the car not too long after!

Anyway, specs now... pictures to follow in a couple of weeks...

2011 E92 M3
Jerez Black
Fox Red (not extended)
Carbon leather trim
M-DCT
M-drive package
Executive package
Competition package
Morr Alloy VS8.2 (coming early May)
Lux H8 V3 (coming early May)

I will order colour matched reflectors and gloss black front grille tonight. I am undecided on swapping out the side gills with gloss black as I worry you would lose the side gill altogether on a black car. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I decided to go Jerez from Alpine White (I also found an AW on Black 2011) as 3 of my last 4 cars were white and I decided a change was in order. It will take more effort to upkeep but I do enjoy washing and detailing my cars. The only thing I will need to do is manage my OCD relative to how my car looks

The other advantage is that this M3 will be fully under warranty until May of 2015. Hopefully by then I will be able to pick up an F32 M3 (if it is what I hope it will be) and this current car will be under warranty until then. This is only a minor advantage but a positive nonetheless.

Can't wait for delivery!!!

And Duncan, I'm sure you'll agree now that DCT is a great option

Congratulations. I had the same problem but with a shattered left ankle and 4 surgeries later not including the trip to the ER, I'm glad I chose DCT but I still miss my 3rd pedal once in a while. Although, DCT is fluid and I will never be able to shift faster if I had 6spd.

My cars 2 door twin! Congrats!

EDIT: I just re-read your post. There was actually a competition package M3 Canada bound that wasn't special ordered for a buyer? I wonder which dealer ordered that car, or perhaps which shopper went through the hassle of ordering a comp pack car in Canada and then backed out. Intrigue.

Very nice. Congrats on the new car. I am toying with the idea of ordering an '11 to replace my 08 before the V8's sail off into the sunset. All this talk of new cars keeps me thinking...

Very nice. Congratulations on the order. So lucky your wait is only going to be 10 days, not 10-12 weeks like the rest of us! Jerez will look amazing I'm sure.

I'd opt for gloss black side gills, or perhaps consider CF grilles, gills, and mirror covers.

Haha - Hey I am in the same boat with my back and ankle. Broke my ankle in two places and shattered a bunch of bones in my right foot. Early mornings at the track especially on cold days can be fun to do some heal toeing! DCT would probably make my life much simpler!

Enjoy the new car!

I should say though, it will take A LOT of effort to keep that baby clean! I had a black car before my current M3 and it was a pain in the a$$ to keep it clean!

Yeah, I know. I thought about this a LOT when deciding on the colour. 4 of my last 5 cars were white so it really was just time for a change. The dealer had a Jerez Black E90 M3 waiting for delivery this morning in the showroom and it was a very nice colour... harder to maintain but rewarding when clean. So I am going in with eyes wide open and only a little bit of denial

Black's not so bad. I had my last car for a couple of months shy of 8 years and it was Jet Black, and I drove it through the winters.

Congrats on the new purchase. Lucky bugger only having to wait 10 days. As Chowster said, my wait is more along the lines of 12 weeks!

Happy Motoring

There were actually 2 M3s coming in on the ship (both Black) that had competition package as an option that were going into a dealer's inventory. I don't know which dealer but something tells me one was Ontario bound and one was Quebec bound.

I was pleasantly surprised and didn't ask questions
