What did I miss? A top 6 shootout? There are only two shots at the top of the poll - shouldn't it be a two way shootout?

again I suggested we do a full round of voting, pick the top 3 vote getters and do a single vote 24hr lightning round on just those 3 as the winner. Then everyone is happy (except the guy who has to make the polls)

contest 41 was a tie between chewy734 & remmib both with 14 votes
next came Paul 13 votes
then turo 12 votes
and last was a tie jaadoogar & rodi with 11 votes

For me - shootouts should only be between the shots that have the same points. Poll needs to be public aswell.

i think everybody meant that the next competition should be one vote per person only.. not multiple voting.. and although i will probably not get a single point

So here was my thought for future:
Round 1: multiple votes
Top 3 advance (or if there is a tie for 3rd they all make it too, if 3 are tied for 1st then only those 3 advance... If there are 4 tied for 2nd they all advance but no 3rd place advances.. Hope this makes sense) SINGLE VOTES in this round.
If there is a tie in this round the winner is chosen by the contest creator (winner of previous contest) so we don't end up wasting time.

ALL ROUNDS SHOULD ALWAYS BE PUBLIC

How does that sound?

This sounds more complicated than calculating BCS rankings. This is, after all, a Bimmerpost photo contest, where the winner gets (some) bragging rights and the opportunity to have more work to do.

I agree with Badger, that all votes should be public.

Why don't the top vote getters, if they are tied, get a lightning round? One vote per person, like we do now. If there are ties in the lightning round, the person who picked the theme breaks the tie?

well my point (that you might find confusing like the BCS) is that if 2nd place has 2 parties tied... that would be the top 3. 1 -1st place 2 -2nd place and 3-other person tied for 2nd place.

i guess all in all i'm just saying it should be top 3 people (or as close to 3 as it can be if parties are tied) not top 3 positions. if you do positions and we have 1 guys with 12 votes, then 5 people with 3 votes and 7 people with 2 votes... it's just gonna get too huge and then why even bother doing the 2nd round?
