I purchased a set of these OEM carbon fiber mirror covers. And, two thin adherent strips of insulation came in each box. Can someone tell me where I should put these strips? Not sure how critical this is, but should I place a strip on the undersurface of each of the carbon fiber mirror covers before snapping the covers on to the mirror frame??

BMW M3 Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps - Install

Just installed my mirror caps. Thought I'd post a few notes to help people out.

So here are some helpful pics of what the inside of the mirror assembly looks like.

Use the proper tools. Hook, pick, and double sided Automotive adhesive. I used black as it blends best with the mirror assembly.

Do the work in a warm dry environment.

Outside Finished.
