It's a good color but not the best one on the M3, but it's the only M3 specific color you can get (outside of individuals). I just don't like it when it shows a bit green on cloudy days.

i've never seen green, unless I park next to a green car.

SSII and SS metallic on bmws website is the same for current production M cars... It was previously just SS metallic on the e46 and e39 M's,maybe others also but on the new models such as e9x it is SSII which is an updated version of SS metallic... the update is a slightly less blue than previously but bmw will still call it SS metallic on their website

Its a great color. I knew I wanted it after seeing my buddy's M5 and really falling for it. It being M specific makes it special but it really is a cool color. Definitely changes its appearance in different light. I get lots of compliments. If you see it next to a silver car, it really stands out. I often see the blue tint to it but never have i seen green.

SSII is way nicer than TiAg. The "shimmer" and character of the paint makes TiAg look flat and boring.

OP, no need to doubt yourself, just order it! Unless you're a lifetime white or black car owner and dead set on AW or JB, you'll love it. Trust us.

I plan on ordering my M3 Coupe within the next week or so, and there isn't a dealer that has a Silverstone model within 300 miles from where I live. I've seen a few pictures online and some of them look silver, and every now and again a picture will show it to look almost baby blueish. I currently have a 2008 335i Coupe in Titanium Silver Metallic and wanted to know how the two compare to each other. Can someone who has a Silverstone Metallic M3 tell me if it ever looks baby blue or ice blue or anything like that? Or if it looks silver (as my Titanium Silver Metallic does). If anyone could take a high resolution picture of their actual Silverstone M3 in good sunlight that would be even more helpful. Any other insight would be greatly appreciated (i.e. it looks blue when itís dark out, but silver in daylight, etc).

Thank you in advanced!!!

i had a titanium silver metallic 335 and now have a silverstone metallic m3

the color at times looks just like titanium silver metallic on the 335 but most of the time has a blueish hue to it. i really love the color

while the tiag made the E46 M3 look amazing in the 01-03 years, the SSII does the same thing for the curves on the E92 M3 times 2. I'd order and it and not look back if you're open to more dynamic colors.

It's not M3-specific, it's M-specific (also available on other M models)

And Interlagos Blue is another non-Individual, M-specific color.

As other have said, SSII changes with the lighting condition.
However, mine looks baby blue to me most of the time

I have the exact same color combo as post 8 and my silverstone II looks like whatever color is dominate in the environment. Blue sky, blue silver car, rosy sunset, rosy car and so on... I like the color and think it may show the least dirt of BMW's palate.

FWIW, I used to own a Ti Silver 335, and actually ordered a Silverstone M3 after seeing a Silverstone M6 in the showroom. It was gorgeous. But after I saw a SS M3 in the daylight, I decided it was too blue for me, and I went with Space Grey instead. Silverstone is a great color: It picks up on the surrounding lighting, it shows off the curves, and it's M-specific. All good things. But if you're looking to stay away from baby blue, you might want a different color.

There is no difference between Silverstone offered on the E60 M5's and the Silverstone II offered on the E90 M3's. If you look up the paint code for each, it is the same...A29.
