The size of it was perfect, I liked the layout in the cockpit and the N54 sans HPFP is a fantastic motor, but You could really feel the let off in power higher on the band and throttle response was slower than I'd like. The gearbox/clutch on the 1 felt a little easier to use and I liked the feel of the shift knob (m-sport one). The 135i is a fantastic little coupe but it's just that little bit less focused than the M3. It might be the best non-M car BMW offers and they are a bit more rare.
The M is tighter, the engine more responsive, the noise is euphoric, there's loads more grip, and the looks are better. I guess that sums it up. The 135i is one of the best Daily drivers on the market but each generation of the M3 is the best all around, daily driver if you want it to be, car ever. There are reasons why so many pundits rave about the M3 in car mags and on shows like Top Gear/Fifth Gear and now driving the car extensively I can fully appreciate what they are trying to say. It might be hard to put the differences into words but the M is definitely worth the price of admission.
"What a car...What a masterpiece!" JC
I totally agree. The E92 M3 is truly a machine to be admired and respected for the marvel it is. I love it!

Thanks. I think the wheels work with our two colors best.... Space and sparkling graphite.

You had the 135i with all the awesome performance goodies, right?
