This Group Buy is now closed.

APEX 18" ARC-8 Group Buy

This is it guys! We’ve been hosting this deal every year right before the race season for 6 years now. Our last 18” ARC-8 deal had 154 buyers. We’re sure the max discount will be reached again, and we’re happy to offer our lightest and most popular wheels again.

Take advantage of these savings by joining the list to follow this Group Buy. These wheels are almost never on sale and very rarely available at a discount.

What wheels are included in this Group Buy?
  • 18x8.5” ET38 - All Colors
  • 18x8.5" ET45 - Hyper Silver, Anthracite
  • 18x9.0” ET42 - All Colors
  • 18x9.5” ET22 - All Colors
  • 18x9.5 ET58 - Hyper Silver, Anthracite
  • 18x9.5” ET35 - All Colors
  • 18x10” ET25 - All Colors
  • 18x10.5” ET27 - All Colors

We created these wheels to inspire confidence during track days, race events, and everyday driving. Click here to learn everything about APEX wheels. The quality of information is worth your time!

What’s different about our Group Buy?

Joining Group Buy deals via forums is traditionally a manual process. Since our deals have grown so large over time, we are working with a new tool to organize these deals in a single, well organized location. This deal is entirely managed on GroupBuyParts.com where you can pay, follow, and even discuss the deal’s status.

How do I participate?

Visit the official Deal Dashboard on GroupBuyParts.com. From there, you can show your interest by joining our feeler list. You’ll receive an email reminder when the deal officially opens. When the deal is live and accepting payments, you can complete checkout and pay for your order from the same page. All product details, member participants, and discussions can be found on that Dashboard.

What if I have some questions?

No problem! We're new here and so you will probably have questions... Just contact us at expert@apexraceparts.com or by direct message and we will get an answer for you about our products or how to joining the Group Buy.

if this goes through, i'll definitely be in this time. need a second track set. i really want gloss black, and bimmerworld told me they don't have any in stock, so please pull the plug on that so i can just order from you guys.

is there an option for no finish so i can get these painted myself?

Great question! Unfortunately, we are not able to able to provide wheels unfinished. (and Gloss Black isn't an option of this Group Buy )

That being said, a powercoating shop local to you should be able to chemically strip your wheels. We've had it done before by our local shop when we had wheels custom coated for display purposes at Bimmerfest last year.

RB,

You might be able to find some of the wheels you're looking for in our cosmetically-blemished inventory.

I just shot you a PM as well.

Just two interested enthusiasts shy of reaching the top tier! This Feeler Phase is going off the charts!

Remember, once the payment phase opens on March 13th @ 12am PST, the sooner you place your official order the better chance you have of securing the set of wheel you want. We ship Group Buy product in chronological order.

Friends who decide to come by the facility are issued an extra $35 discount. You plan on making a road trip to NorCal? Hit Laguna and then pick up some new wheels?

Street, Track or Race - The APEX 18" ARC-8's come in many different width's and offsets, ask our technical experts about getting the right set for your application!

Yea, I'd like to. I'm up here now... Not sure if that would work...

I don't think I'll be able to fit two sets of wheels in the M to bring them back. Girlfriend wouldn't appreciate a wheel on her lap for 300 miles.

Thank you for your interest. The 18x10 et25 application will clear you stock/aftermarket suspension just fine with this tire size, and most customers prefer to run 275/35/18 tires on all four corners

If you have KW suspension, 5mm spacers will be needed up front to clear the suspension.

Fitment question for E46 M3.

I trying to decide between square 18x9.5 ET22 or square 18x9.5 ET35. I know a lot of people use spacers (which I would like to avoid) in the rear with ET35 to get a flushed look, and I've read that ET22 is the offset to go with if I don't want to run spacers. But ET22 requires a lot of camber up front. I'm wondering how fitment would be with ET22; I'm trying to avoid rubbing issues and wheel/tire poke in the front. Hopefully you can give me some insight.

Specs on my car:
Ride height - 13.25F and 13.0R (PSS10 coilovers)
Camber - -3.0F and -1.8R
Fenders rolled in both front and rear
Will be running 265/35 or 275/35 tires

So, what I'm trying to find out is, will there be any poke up front, and will I run into any fitment issues like rubbing wth the ET22 setup? Worst case, I go with ET35 and run spacers in the rear.

Sorry about the long post. Currently trying to do my own research, but I thought I should ask someone at Apex, too.

Edit: Ran into this post. I think I'll be fine if I stick with 265/35 street and R-comp tires on ET22.

Thank you for your interest This question is asked often, as many enthusiast are not sure which offset is better for their application and why. I will be attacking this question in detail soon, and will be sure to make the information available to our customers.

Essentially we offer a variety of widths and offsets because customers have different priorities, supporting modifications and overall goals for their individual cars. With the information that you provided, I would recommend going with our ET22 application. The lower offset will provide you with plenty of inner strut clearance up front without the need for spacers, and a flush fitment in the rear also without the need for spacers. The caveat that you already mentioned is that the et22 application does require more negative camber up front to clear the fenders. -3 degrees will be just about perfect for 265/35/18's, so you will not need to make any adjustments. You did not mention what type of compound, so this will make a slight difference on exact requirements.

On the flip side, although the ET35 application is much more flexible in regards to negative camber requirements, you would want to run 12mm spacers in the rear to create a flush fitment (matching the front track width and filling out the rear fenders), and will need to run 5mm spacers up front to clear your Bilstein PSS9 suspension. At this point you are running spacers front and rear, and you may as well take advantage of our lower ET22 option to bypass the spacers.

The ET35 application remains the most popular "double duty" square fitment that we offer for the e46 M3, and if you were not running the PSS9's it would likely be the better way to go. (PSS10, KW Variants and Clubsports all have the same inner strut clearance issues with the ET35).

Is it the higher the offset, the more concave? or vice versa?

Good question, there are only two different faces when it comes to the ARC-8's. The 18x8.5 et38 and 18x9 et42 are both profile 1 (flat face). The 18x9.5 et35, 18x9.5 et22, 18x10 et25 and 18x10.5 et27 are all profile 3 face (concave).

All profile 3 concave faces are the same, meaning the 10.5" wheel is no more concave then the 9.5" wheel.

ok thanks because I just ordered some with the group buy in 18x9.5 et35 and 18x10.5 et27 and wanted make sure they are both concave will I be able to fit just as wide of a tire in the rear running the 10.5" as I would if I went with the 10" smaller offset?
When will orders start shipping for this?
