You can't rely on the computer for accurate mileage information. I recently checked mine on a short trip, all highway cruising at 68 mph. The computer average for the trip indicated 26.1, an actual check revealed 24.2, about what I expected. The gasoline I used had an alcohol additive, so my guess, without the alcohol and at a slightly lower cruising speed, 25 mpg is going to be tops. Obviously, it all depends on conditions. I had a C6 ZO6 that would deliver 31 mpg cruising on the highway, and about 6 on track.

Very funny Hahahaha

I drove mine home from the dealership at the start it was saying something like 22 L/100 KM

Mostly because the fine lady at BMW telling me about the car and all the fine options decided to start the car and let it idle for some 15 minutes I guess.

Then once I was on the express way driving home I averaged some 120 KM / hour I guess at around 3,000 RPM

after pulling off the express way some 210 KM later it read

11.1 L / 100 KM

I am quite happy with that and I do play with that pedal way to the left hahaha

Here is what is expected ....

12.4 litres/100 kilometres (equal to 22.8 mpg Imp).

So I figure 11.1 / 100 KM is pretty good for cursing with my new babe

My former Z4 on a very long road trip averaged out at 8.2 L / 100 KM. The additional 1.9 L driving my ///M sounds okay by me.

You need a read out from the board computer like the one below:

You need driving time, avg speed, and total distance. I am sure some one will come up with 99.9 pic (bmw bug very soon).

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...highlight=99.9

27 mpg (US) was my best ever on a flat mostly route.
Man that is pretty good for an average.

Then we all know a simple calculation will give you the best results (tank, record the fuel volume and take note of the staring milage. Then tank again and calculate how you did). I don't need the iDrive to tell me how I did or a computer for that matter.

Is this number from the on-board computer, or from a real calculation from one fillup to the next? If the former, it means nothing and, if the latter, you have a very unusual car.
