Yes gas would be one reason to think twice depending on how much you drive. But I understand the need for change. Have fun with it.

That is the reason why I bought the `06. Also I did research the newer models. But they are too expensive and I did not want to spend more money than I have on my M3. I pretty much did an even switch because the car has so low miles.

Re-certifying the car and buying extended warranty. Got it coverred. Plus once again, getting a hold of a car: be it `09, `08, `07 with such low miles is low. So when I struck with the 06 M5, I hit the jackpot. Plus the car has been pretty much been sitting around.

SMG. I was told the 6 Speed for the M5 was good but under strain would collapse. So, I got the SMG. I will use and abuse the car, just like any M-should be.

Wasn't the 6MT dumped into the E60 M5 last minute because people were complaining about not having the option? I don't think I would ever again purchase a car without a 6MT, but on the M5 I don't even consider it an option. I just heard too many complaints about the manual. Enjoy the car!
