was my dream/idea for a long time. i was thinking of painting black until i saw J's car and asked him what it was... the price is wayy better for a wrap, plus your not stuck with it forever

No, if anything, it keeps it from fading. I think my mistake last time was claying the roof before I vinyl'd it. I also parked outside 24/7 for 2 years. The vinyl stuck like a mofo and took me 3 hours to get it off - one little strip at a time. I had to clay a few spots after to get some residue off, but that was minimal.

lol, was the top white'r than the body of the car ( assuming its white )
so im guessing more sun the more it sticks?
did the black fade out or anything?

No color difference that I could tell, but I really didn't care. It was going back to the dealer anyways. The vinyl developed some funky water spots because of the moring dew getting evaporated by the sun everyday. Never could get it out.

Due to this thread I'm actually getting pumped to get back to attending meets and all, I've been neglecting my car the last six months. I'm taking tomorrow off to clean it and attend bimmerfest.
So is there a C.& C. next Wednesday?
