Service rep need to RTFM. Also changes after software update

The service rep read my key and stated that my car does not need service. I said no it does, service light is on for 900 miles. She insisted. I became an ass, I said may be the key doesn't need service but I assure you my car needs it. She checks the car and it does. So she says don't u put your CA key in ignition. I said never. She said it needs to charge. I said no not that one. RTFM!!
anywho, they did the oil and software update from 10/2010. One very nice difference:
When I am on the phone, now the car gives me the option to use the dial pad while talking. Which means I can push 1 or 2 when you get automated voice. I couldn't do that before!!!! Also phone numbers now look like this ( 1-555-555-5555) was like (555-555-5555)??
Why do they need to drive my car 3 miles after an oil change??? Hate that

The owners manual does say you need to insert the key to charge the battery.

Not if you have comfort access.

2011 CA keyfob battery is not rechargeable. Plus why would she think I'll drive an hour and half to ask for service when service light is not on. How hard is it to know when car needs service?

According to the call I recieved Tues, from my BMW dealer, mine sent an alert saying it was ready for service (it just hit 600 miles). I inquired that I thought break in was 1200 miles, lady told me it could be done sooner. /shrug

It has been possible since MY2009 iDrive to use the dial pad while in a phone call, even to do conference calls.

Isn't that the truth! You'd think they'd have em study...take a test or something...rather than let them sound foolish.
