Thanx Johnny's AutoBody

Last Friday I caught some a$$$holes trying to pry off my side fender grills, while I was coming out of the grocery store. They got away without taking my indicators and vents but not before dinging up the paint around the vents. I had my 2 yr old with me so I couldn't give that good of a foot chase. Needless to say I'm very OCD when it comes to my car, not even 2 weeks old and both my fenders were marred.

I immediately starting checking the forum for body shop reccs and came across the so cal sticky thread with all the shops listed.

I pm'd member ace330i on friday night, got a reply that night. ace330i/Arthur was very helpful and responsive to all my questions and concerns regarding the repair. I ended our conversation with me continuing to shop around prices and quotes, but would get back to him. The other places I spoke with in the Valley were not as reassuring about doing the work, one even admitted they would even know how to remove the fender vents/gills to start with (yipes), another shop called me "picky" right in front of me when showing his painter the damage, SMH. Most just wanted to spot fill the damage, the ones that didn't were about the same price as Arthur's quote.

I ended up calling Arthur Monday @ noon, dropped off my car in the afternoon, arthur got me a great rate on a rental.....~48 hours later I'm back in my car, good as new...clear coat and paint match is great, can't even see the damage or tell if there was a repair...I'd definitely recc Arthur and his family's shop to anyone in the future....here's his info if you guys need:

That's crazy! Did this occur in broad daylight? Glad to hear the repairs went well.

Wow, shit like that makes me rage.

Do you have the car alarm? If so did it just not go off? Seems like it should in situations like that but I don't know what the conditions that trigger it are?

^no, the alram was not triggered, on my e60 the alarm needed a pretty good shake/jolt to go off...not sure how sensitive the alarm on this car is..

Wow that's messed up, but happy that all is good now.

This is what I first thought was your car when I began reading, it was on crescent heights and Santa Monica on Friday night.

oh wow that sucks, we had a customer with a 2009 e93 335 and someone cut his front bumper to take off his front headlights, and than cut a hole in the driver side door skin in order to disconnect the alarm and remove the driver side airbag, it was really sad..
