Reading this post just makes me wonder what kind of "friend" and "husband" some people in this forum are...

Pointless to have such a nice car and not let a friend drive it and share the fun. I actually offer two of my friends when I first got the car and one of them was a little concerned that he could do some sort of damage to the car. After I insisted he drove it in D mode and had a lot of fun. The other one just pushed the M button and smiled during the entire ride.

And my wife, of course she can and does drive the car. The day my car becomes more valuable or important than my wife, please send me to a mental institution as I definitely need to be medicated and locked up!

So you are saying that you car is just as relevant and important to you as you girlfriend/wife?!

Does she know this?

I have to agree with you although I'm sure most are exaggerating or at least I hope they are.

I use to be super protective when I purchased my first m3. NO one drove it. Nowadays, I don't mind letting my friends drive it.

I even tried to teach my wife how to drive a manual with this car. I thought she did really well for her first time, but she's not interested in trying it again.

Only when I get a new part, then I'll let them drive and I'll drive in a car next to them to see how it looks or sounds. It's amazing how much different your car looks driving instead of parked

I let one of my friends drive my car so far. I don't drive it enough for it to be out. I know my friend that has a e39 M5 is itching to drive it. I driven his M5, so I guess I should let him drive mine.

My wife drives it when I am not using it as a dd. She does an exceptional job. I also want my friends to try it. What is amazing is some are already working towards buying an M. They now understand why this is just an amazing car.

Only close friends if they ask. Wife doesn't drive it but only because she doesn't trust herself with it.

Fine with me!

Yeah, there is a difference between automatic M3s and manual ones! Most people here don't know how to drive manual cars.

I think that you're taking these posts more seriously than they are intended to be. In many cases, the wife has her toy and the husband has his. I also think that the reason that many people don't allow their friends to drive their car(s) is because people rarely share the same appreciation for things (..by appreciation I am referring to the same level of care, consideration, etc.).

If you're a top F1 driver, I'll consider it. All else, NO!

I had a blast a couple weekends ago at MSR Houston. I had a GT-R Chasing me all weekend and he never caught me. The high point of my weekend was the driver asking me what kind of supercharger I have (the car is bone stock)
