You do not need a cage to run One Lap? I may have to do it.

Also, can you please comment on the wheel / tire setup you are running. Looks very much what I am about to buy.

Those are inexpensive TR MT1 wheels. Go to tirerack.

Hey there everyone,

I'm one of the drivers of this car so I figured I'd register and say hi (and thanks!).

I spoke with Dan (my father, and the car owner) shortly after he picked the car up. He is already enjoying it and I can't wait until I get to slide behind the wheel and experience the greatness that Active Autowerke has added to the car! Omar, those numbers are IMPRESSIVE! And the pictures I've seen so far really show the quality of work you guys put out!

LvnLrg, This is music to my ears!!!
- "The man's only complaint will definitely be resolved with the supercharger kit. I just completed a full track day at Sebring last weekend (5, 30 minute sessions) and the car was fantastic."

A few answers to some of the questions that were posted:

-Wheels: They are indeed the TRM's. Tires are Michelin PS2s (the Dodge Viper front tires) all around. Both were purchased through the Tire Rack. Great tire/wheel fit, and the tires are spectacular in dry and wet conditions. Reasonably priced wheels that are nice and light and IMO look great on the car - especially with those bright red Stop Techs poking out from behind those spokes

-Brake ducts: We fitted brake ducting to help out with the cooling on the stock calipers for last year. I do believe that with the addition of the StopTechs, the ducting should no longer be needed. I have a few pics of the ducting that was on the car (exterior shots only, no full install), if you're interested in more info, PM me an email address and I can send you what info I have. I believe they came from Turner.

-The Story: I have been keeping a blog of our One Lap of America adventures over the past few years; and will continue the tradition for 2011. Daily updates and pictures have been the norm. With the addition of the Active Autowerke Supercharger kit, I'll make sure there are some reviews . And for any data-heads out there, we will be running the same data acquisition as last year (Race Technology DL1 and maybe Traqmate) so I'll be able to make some performance comparisons. You can find the blog at www.schautspeedracing.com
Event starts April 30th, look for One Lap specific updates then. Check it out now to see last years story and some other random stuff that we are up to.

And of course, if anyone is in the vicinity of any of the tracks we will be visiting, I encourage you to come out, meet the team, watch some racin' and check out the awesome kit!

Happy Motoring!
Ben

No cage necessary for coupes and sedans. You must run one if you have a soft top. For safety we do run with competition belts and have a shoulder harness bar in the car. This is the best event going. Just do it.
A few comments to compliment Ben's response. The wheels are 18x9.5 front and rear with 275x35 PS2's. That means we only have to carry one spare wheel/tire and can rotate the tires as needed. The ducting we ran with the stock brakes will not fit with the intercooler plumbing so the Stoptech brakes became the best option. They are ST40's front and rear.
Active Autowerke is the class act for modifying BMW's. The power is awesome, the drivability is perfect and my mileage improved over stock. Their development and fabrication work is the best I have seen. I have absolutely no regrets. Omar, I love the audio on the dyno run.

Welcome Dan and Ben - Good Luck! I also have an '08 E90 and if I don't swap to a new model I may upgrade to the AA S/C kit once my warranty is up.
