Agreed, just another point of reference. Considering the 0-60 time on this car has varied by over half a second depending on the source I think having more than one point of reference on a topic is always a good thing.

Yes, my car was the first M3 in egypt and one of the first in the Middle East since I got late 2007 and it was the only M3 for a long time. I got my car from germany costed about 73,000 Euros at the time. Yeah sometimes i freak out when its too crowded so I dont go out with the car often till after midnight which isn't that bad. Here are some pics of the first day it arrived at the port before PDI. BTW its Euro-Specs.
Still waiting for the video Ill post it as soon as my friend sends it to me.

Variable tach reading seems really low; think mine runs yellow at 5500 at cold startup. Anyone know if this is a model year thing or a Euro/US thing? am I just crazy?

No your not. All cars M cars have that before PDI to make sure no one passed the running in instructions before the car is delivered to its owner. Kind of smart

Guys back to topic I am very interested in knowing the topspeed u managed.
Please share the maximum you reached just for reference. This is a link for a video of a chiped M3 going all the way to 340 KM/H which is insane and if anyone knows what chip increases the redline to 8800 rpm would be appreciated.

Guys guys!! Play nice. We have so many things on this forum to fight about other than politics, to name few:
DCT vs 6MT
Is E92 faster than E90?
What color combination looks better
Mod or keep stock?
How can I spend 75K on a SPORT car and worry about MPG?
Is the steering wheel too thick?
Use polish or wax?
Comfort access or keyfob?
Is 1M suitable for a guy or is it only for hot chicks?
Turbo this or turbo that?
To protect the driver seat, is the ass lift maneuver better than twist and slid technique?

Here is something I find very interesting
Did any of you have any idea that people in Egypt have been taking the e92 316i and coverting it to an M3? Its so popular now that there is about 10 of them on the street fully converted some with DCT and some manual which I think never happens anywhere but here. These cars are fully emptied and they replace almost everything (suspension, interior, exterior) and to the casual eye its an original M3. A friend of mine does the conversion and i have seen the process and its amazing how the car turns out to be when its done. I have never had a chance to drive one yet but I think it'll be the same as my car since everything is taken out of an M3.

but where are you in Cairo?
i am hearing on twitter there is the begining of a revolution in Egypt, did you see anything where you are?

maybe with a new government, they lower customs and i can bring my M3 back

One question. Does this mean you use your car for 6 months than park it for 6 months and than use it again, etc.

Yeah people are gathered at the tahrir sqr but I don't think that will change anything they're sprayed with water from fire trucks and they probably go home after a bit. Am in nasr city and there is nothing on my side of Cairo infact the streets are kind of empty and everything is calm. But i wish they'll lower the customs then I could have my car all year long
I hate that I paid 73,000 euros for a car that I drive only half a year

I take my car to its top speed fairly regularly on the autobahn - it still has the factory limiter and hits 168 mph indicated on the speedo.

The engine has much more to give. My car runs so well after 270 km/h that I never regretted paying the extra 2500 euros for the m drivers pack. I really recommend that u remove the limiter it's another feeling after the 300 mark and guarantee you will pass 195 miles comfortably. Its definitely worth it

Thanks man, I never go that far unless the road is clearly straight and i don't see a single car insight cuz the most important thing at speeds like that is that not to risk it cuz no doubt you'll die if anything goes wrong. But I have to say I am addicted to that feeling now each time I have the chance I go at least all the way to 300. Can't wait to have it back in April
