I bought the moleskin to install but the tint guy said I already had the required felt on the car to get tint. They offer lifetime warranty and wouldn't give that warranty unless I had the proper felt which he claimed i had. I'll live with it for now because I roll down my windows everyday literally and it hasn't gotten worse. Definitely got luckier than other forum members
VERY lucky, congratulations! Interesting, especially since you have a 2010. I also wonder if different tints have different thicknesses - at the micron level.

I'll look tonight down there with a flashlight. Perhaps this is why your previous tint didn't have any issues. Lucky. Seems to be so sporadic... two parts bins side by side, and they just choose???

Im assuming we are talking about the same thing... When you put the window all the way down, and stick your fingertip in the opening, there is a felt strip along the opening, right?

If so, mine def has both. Very weird for these cars to have such differences...

No, according to ramyar ^^^ it's a secondary seal lower down in there. Sounds like it's a visual thing with a flashlight, not a feel thing.

Mine is tintless, but my windows are SO scratched up, its cutting into my windows. My car currently is in service for Window scratching, they said "maybe we will try loosening the tension within the door." Lets see how this works =)

Does anyone know if it matters when you apply the tint protector before or immediately after getting tints?

Ross. Some people here say not to apply the TP immediately before getting tint, as the water/solutions from the tint process may affect the TP adhesive. I think most people are installing it either during the tint or immediately after.

And don't forget this applies primarily to E90s, not E92/3s.

I just got F1 Pinnacle on my 2011 M3 E90. Was told by the tint guy, he does not do felt or take off door panels.
5 days later after not finding anyone who does this kind of work, I've ordered the Tint Protector from TintProtector.com.
I find it very odd that 3 places I called neither do this kind of work, nor had product in stock.

hey guys i have an 11 e90 and when i went to get my tints done, the installer said you should remove a hard rubber piece that is found almost at the top inside of the door. Remove that and you will not have an scratch issues. I had an e90 335 before and all my window tints were messed up because of scratches.. Now i dont have one!!!! ... very happy with my tints... nothing better then black on black with 15% blk carbon tint...
