random question: SAs and BMW

Why does it seem that there is a high turn-over rate of Service Advisors at a BMW service center, in particular is BMW of FFX. Seems like every few months there are new SAs.

wonder if they get fed up and leave, or rotate to other centers, or.....?

I ask b/c i had a good SA, established a good rapport, and now i have to start from scratch every few months. I prefer continuity.

Additionally, it seems BMW service center loaner car policies always change. Seems like when they are brand new, loaners for everyone, then after a while, loaner cars for only work that is greater than 2 hours, unsafe to drive, or something. They tell you upfront "we have no loaners" when you arrive and you ask, but you see around the corner a couple them parked...

it definitely seems that way - and agree with your assessment of FFX specifically. I recently had a terrible experience with an advisor - and I couldn't get anyone to answer their phones - so I physically went to the dealer and spoke with the service director in person - who promptly took care of things. moved my case to another advisor - and was taken care of to the nine's from that point on.

Yea I've had bad luck with FFX too. I switched to Sterling and everything has been great since.

we have had the same SA guys for over 10 years, 2 of them 16 years. All I can think is that maybe your SA's are so good that they are getting better job offers at other dealerships?

Haven't had any horrible experiences w/ SAs or service at FFX, so far thats still the place i go.

I will agree w/ jwg133 that the Service Manager is good to go, has always made things right, and gone out of her way for me.

Just sitting here thinking.....has anyone tried approaching one of the service managers about being "endorsed" by local forum members? Not really asking for anything except a handshake agreement and a commitment that we won't be treated like an average Joe off the street. That we aren't stupid, and we love our cars - and we expect professionalism and respect.

Thoughts?

So the SAs and manager would have to keep a screen name list or list of people who are enthusiasts?

That might be hard to manage for everyone in the MAR. lol

My rule of thumb is to always be polite and courteous, and establish good working relationships. Even if something bad or not right happens, remain calm and collected and work toward a solution.
