well if they want to use the same lights as the 328/335
then we would need a new bumper, since the LCI lights have a different shape, which would not fit our existing bumpers

There's no need to alter the headlight shape to implement LED halos... however, the mount for the halos has to change which means a new PIM mold, the electronics and the harness could change, then several new M3 with the new headlights has to be crushed to federalize it.

All that is at least a million bucks in R&D, storage and inventory.

If I can save my company a million bucks and still sell my quota then I would do it yesterday, especially when the M3 looks stunning with the current headlights. And knowing pretty well the M3 intended customer, I know that the few that would like LED halos will get the Orion V2 and be done with it...

Then, and again... why spend a million bucks?

I like the LED angel eyes better. Like my teeth,I want em bright white not yellowish and dull.
Another plus, with the LED angel eyes, hot chicks would notice me more easily.

I'd rather have rear cupholders and something a little better than that cheap cloth attached rear center armrest - who thought of that

If you want them put them in, 250 isnt that bad, personally I think they scream 'look at me I own a BMW' enough with them dim.

I would rather have euro front seats with better support rear cup holder and a better rear armrest..that kind of upset me as well.. never noticed that until I pull it out....kind of sad how sloppy it looks.

Maybe someone here should write a letter to BMW to ask them why, then post the response here to settle this once and for all.

But in all honesty, I think they knew you would buy the car anyway regardless of the led so they figured, why bother??

Sure I was disappointed that I wouldn't be getting the upgrade in my new 2011 but I still bought the car anyways. BMW, they are very business savvy too

I assume there's an email address; I'll have to check the BMW website, I'm interested in their response.

Doesnt matter around here, they could be 8000000000000000 watt halogen angel eyes and people will still pull out in front of you like you dont exist

Hopefully those cupholders are big enough to fit those 7-11 Big Gulp soft drink cups.

We may not get the LED lights but the M3 gets the suspension and S65 updates that the regular 3 series didn't get lol

I think the majority of us wish we got the LCI headlights in addition to the LCI rear. BMW didn't care and they knew we would buy the cars anyway.

Like others said, it's an M car and it should get the best of the best vs. the regular 3-series production line all the time. But they're smart and again, they knew we'd buy them. After all, we didn't buy these cars for headlights (would have been a nice touch BMW).

I'm still surprised that someone hasn't figured out a way to implement the E9x LCI LED Halo's to the non-LCI angel eyes. There MUST be some kind of way to replace the rings, remove some things, change a harness or two, I don't know - but it shouldn't be that hard.

I think the LCI Headlights on my E93 are stunning, violet/purple/blue, bright and perfect. When I look at my brand new 2011 E92 with the GP thunders, it looks like it's running on reserve battery! I'd rather have a nice solution and a lot of drivers (myself included) are ready to pony up $100, $200, $300 or even $400 for a solid replacement kit for these halos. I personally can't stand the Audi LED's (or the Audi faux-LED's that are regular incandescent lights - fail) but the Angel Eye has always been a trademark BMW look and the new LCI halo's look superb.

I've always been interested in the Angel iBrights (from EAS) but have read more bad than good and I would rather pay for more for a product that's solid and reliable than one that has a warranty which I would have to replace 5x a year and waste time.

Duke Dynamics had the best prototype ever for LED AEs but people scoffed at the $400 price and that was that. Now people WILL spend that or more.

Actually happy they're not updated...I think the new look, whereas nice, is ill-fitting with an M...can't say why really. Just IMO

And plus they're ugly purple!
