Has anyone ordered a 2011 without ZCP?

Seems as if almost every single 2011 order includes ZCP, I am curious if anyone actually had the option to get ZCP and didn't.

I am torn between ZCP and no ZCP. Since I would obvs opt for the 220m wheels, to move up to ZCP is another $1,000, which is insignificant.

I guess my real consideration is whether I like the 220m wheels better, and whether I want the upgraded suspension. This car won't be a track car, and if I didn't get ZCP I wouldn't get EDC.

Can't decide on paint color either, for the life of me!

I guess these are all "good" problems to have

that means you specifically didn't want ZCP suspension? or you really wanted the 220M wheels?

Yup, ordered mine with the 19"s as well, and EDC and no ZCP. Preferred the 19" double spokes to the ZCP wheels, and the 10mm drop didn't matter to me. Like you, no intention of tracking it.

As for color, Alpine White all the way... or come to think of it, go with something else so we AP owners stand out a little more often ;-)

Same here, 19s, EDC and everything else. But no ZCP. don't need the extra 137HP that comes with it.

You should consider getting EDC anyway. IMO it's a great feature of this car. Comfort mode really does feel different than Normal and Sport gives a very firm ride. I appreciate that I can adjust between the modes depending on what type of driving I'm doing.

No ZCP here either. I do have EDC, DCT, etc.

I like the more classic look of the 220m forged wheels (don't start the forged argument). The car is low enough for me, 10mm/.4 inches in Chicagoland means rubbing on driveways, parking garages, etc. (From experience)

Straight line performance is the same ZCP or Not. ZCP is for people that track, nothing more.

+1. Sounds identical to mine (for the same reasons) except I ordered Interlagos Blue.

Bare-bones with 18"s. Looking at how many people are ordering the ZCP, the standard M3 may actually stand out.

I went without ZCP solely because I like the 220s so much more. I did the 19s and EDC so to add ZCP would have been a couple hundy more but those ZCP wheels just don't do it for me. And I could care less about a 10mm drop, but would like to have the remapped EDC.

I think it mostly boils down to whether or not you like the ZCP wheels or the 220s (or the stock 18s I guess).

I ordered W/O ZCP only because I like the 220 wheels better. That is the only reason because once you consider the additional cost of the 19's plus EDC, it is only a difference of a few hundred dollars. I debated over EDC as well and in the end, I checked the box because I figured that is what these cars are made for and if I am spending 70k on a car then whats another 1k. As my momma always said, if your going to spend the money then make sure its worth it and get what you want or you will regret it. I skimped on premium package with my 335 and severely regretted it!

Do you guys think it is a huge mistake to NOT order ZCP and also NOT order EDC?

I say EDC is a must. ZCP is not. I ordered mine with ZCP, only to get lower suspension (don't want to go aftermarket) and more aggressive settings.

I'm not really into ZCP wheels. So probably I'll end up selling them. I prefer 18" setup anyways.

Ordered mine without ZCP and went for the Dinan Stage 3 instead. Also preferred the 220 wheels.

No. If you don't want EDC, that's a perfectly good reason to opt out of ZCP.

I have to say, though, that I find it hard to understand the decision by some folks who ordered both 19s and EDC instead of just getting ZCP. The wheels are a non-issue since 220M are easily obtained second hand in new condition on this forum and you can sell the 359M to offset the cost. I suppose I can see the lower suspension being ever so slightly less practical, but it's hard to imagine that 1cm is going to be the deal breaker as far as clearance is concerned in anything more than a handful or driving situations. For that matter, if it really proved to be an issue, you could switch to the non-ZCP struts if you really had to and then sell the ZCP struts to a forum member to recoop some funds (I am sure there is demand). Though that would probably end up netting you a loss. All in all, it seems like the drop, the active EDC Sport+ mode and the more forgiving MDM mode for a mere $250 easily outweigh any negatives of ZCP, especially since you cannot add the revised programming later.

I have already read through that whole thread, and yes I know ZCP provides an additional 50rwhp. but since powdercoating your wheels gloss black also provides an additional 50hp I figured I'd just go that route.
