I traded my G37S for my M3 several months ago and haven't looked back I test drove the M before I ordered mine, but it wasn't untill I past the 1200 mi mark that I truly loved the car

500rpm? What is the idle in G35, 100rpm?

I don't understand people driving cars under 1500rpm... It is not good for the engine.

However, placing an order is my personal preference for any new car, a must if it's a BMW, but that's as much a matter of specific equipment, color combo as it is a desire to purchase a vehicle that has 3-6 miles on the odometer.

Being an M3 enthusiast willing to share my passion with other like-minded people in more than just a blogosphere, and being someone who will likely buy future BMWs from my local dealer, I have mentioned to my local dealer, whose stock of M3s is small-to-nil, that I would be willing to let my M3 be used for an accompanied test drive. In exchange I have gotten negotiating leverage on future purchases and, in a recent case, met another enthusiast. Maybe your dealer 90 miles away would be willing to contact his past M3 customers on your behalf to do the same thing. Itís a win for you (you get to test drive), a win for the dealer (who gets your sale) and a win for the previous customer (who may get future leverage). In my case (the potential customer really wanted to TD an M3 with DCT), I rode along for the ďtest driveĒ and met a really interesting person and future business contact. Good luck. You wonít go wrong getting an M3 if you donít test drive it first, but if you do test drive it you will fall hard and fast.

I also ordered my 2011 e90 m3 with ZCP no test drive and am very happy. As for the vert question it would be amazing to hear that engine with the top down, but my e90 definitely feels lethargic when I am nominated to drive my coworkers to lunch and I am carrying an extra 500 lbs of passengers... That extra weight really is a killer for a low torque car like the m3.

The e93 is stunning though.

If it's too far to go to test drive WHY would you own the vehicle- things DO go wrong now and then- it needs service- makes no overall sense IMHO.
