Hope all the best for yor family and friends.. As for the drunk driving idiots, america is just too damn easy with laws. Honestly on 3rd offense people need to do some HARD time.. Will make people think twice or better yet chop some hands off, some countries still do that lol and the crime rate is insanely low if any..

^^ what they said. Glad everyone was able to walk away on their own. I can't stand hearing about drunk drivers w/ multiple offenses. Zero tolerance needs to be enacted and enforced. Last year, there was someone locally that had 9 offenses yet was still driving (don't recall if he still had a license, though). In a separate incident, a friend from work who retired earlier this year lost his son this fall due to a drunk driver. The son survived 2 tours in Afghanistan but was taken out by a dumbass while on leave.

Just goes to show how fragile life is and how it can change in an instant.

Fortunately for you all it appears the BMW lived up to it's safety claims. And I agree with everyone else, that woman should spend some considerable time looking through a set of bars.

How is she still able to drive without some type of in car blowing device to start the car?

That should be mandatory esp after the 2nd time geez.

Glad you could go home to your kids !

Why the fuck she's still driving after the 2nd offense is beyond me.

Did she even had a license anymore OP? Did the courts really let her keep her license after a 2nd offense? Good luck with the recovery and please keep us updated!

Edit - Any way we can get some pictures of the car in the daylight if you get a chance? Can't see much in those pictures.

Forget about your quest to put her behind bars. Start a quest to vote out jackasses that make it possible for her to have a licenses.

Newsday article:

Cops: DWI charge for driver in Bridgehampton crash that injured four

Originally published: November 29, 2010 11:28 AM

An East Hampton woman was arrested on a felony drunken-driving charge Saturday, after allegedly ramming her Land Rover into another car on Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton and injuring all four of the car's occupants, Southampton Town police said.

Charlotte Depersia, 57, was driving east on Montauk Highway at about 11:30 p.m. when she veered into the oncoming lane, striking a BMW, police said.

The driver and its three passengers were injured, police said, but the extent of those injuries were not known. A police spokeswoman was unable to update their conditions on Monday.

The four were taken to Southampton Hospital, police said.

Depersia was arrested on a drunken-driving charge and taken to police headquarters where she refused a breath-analyzer test, police said.

She was arraigned on felony charges of driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and was released on her own recognizance, police said in a news release.

Police said the charges against Depersia are felonies, based on a previous DWI conviction.

Really glad to hear you all are okay. Seeing blood at collisions really puts things in to perspective.

I'm sure BMW will be seeing your business again.
