You know what´s strange to me:

When that same TV show tested the 800hp G Power M6 on the Autobahn, what car came from behind flashing its lights? A Porsche GT3 RS. And now: again a GT3 RS. If that´s not the oddest coincidence ever...

You know what's strange to me?

Nobody here cracking down the fact that they put a turbo charged engine in an M3 ?

But when they put one in the 1M, oooh, "it's not a real M car".

The 1M isn't a real M car because it's simply a 135 with a reflash, borrowed suspension/brakes from a "real" M car, different body work, a revised interior, and that's really about it. It doesn't even have the "S" designation for the engine - FAIL.

And we've already bitched about an F/I engine being in an M car when the X5/6 came out and when it became known that the next M3 won't be natural so this isn't anything we haven't seen.

I find it really interesting that everyone loves this car yet completely hates on the idea of the next m3 being a turbo car? What gives-this is what a turbo m3 would be like so if you like this then you should welcome the m3 or m5 etc with the TT motor as you are definetly seeing a variant of this under the hood.

Do u hear yourself? Its more M than not. The only thing not M is the engine. BMW just realized how stupid they were for not putting such a potent engine in an M car. What is so wrong about that engine not being M? Just because its not hand built or has twin turbos? M is just a badge. Who cares if they are going to F/I as long as the cars remain fast and fun to drive its fine. If anything F/I should be a good thing because they are much easier to mod. With $500 i added more power that an M3 could with 3K

no. M is redesigning. The 1M was just fitting pieces to a puzzle.

I think it is more a matter of principal. Traditionally, M cars were N/A. Going to FI is a change that many M fanatics won't like because it strays away from tradition. It will still be fun, yes, but as an M fan, you're going to miss the natural aspiration of it (me specifically, the badass sound an N/A V8/V10 makes).
